If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ilkka Saari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. WWGB (talk) 06:29, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ilkka Saari[edit]

Regarding your email: "I made a wikipedia page for Ilkka Saari has IMDb ranking around 100000, so I think it is worth a wikipedia page.

About 300000 to 1000000 people see the name Ilkka Saari annually so there might even be traffic into this page. Significant amount of those persons will search

wikipedia for Ilkka Saari for reference; and thus give support for wikipedia. For these reasons final acceptance would be advantageous for wikipedia

Furthermore you did undelete/remove speedy deletion of Stevie Riks and he indeed is an actor

But his listing is 1380000 while mine is around Top 100000

hope you reverse your deletion

thank you"

Please note that IMDB ranking is not an accepted measure of notability or suitability for inclusion in this encyclopedia. Please take a look at WP:N which states the criteria for notability. You would likely need evidence that the subject has received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources (newspapers, magazines, books, professional websites, etc.) for an article to be kept here. Please let me know if you have any other questions (you can leave a message at User talk:Michig) - if Ilkka Saari meets any of our criteria for inclusion then I'll be happy to help with an article. Thanks. --Michig (talk) 08:44, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your further emails, notability needs to be established by significant independent coverage in reliable sources (i.e. reliable independent sources writing about Ilkka Saari in a non-trivial manner). A CV is not independent, and there's no significant independent coverage at IMDB. Please channel your efforts into finding suitable examples of significant coverage as this is your only hope of justifying an article here.--Michig (talk) 10:29, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you notice that I am fighting for the rights of 7 million film industry people, and you should have clear guidelines of who can be in wikipedia by filmindustry rankings. I don't have anything to hide here. So I hope you reassess this case and even factualize by your answer that there is an existing lack of guidelines I would say just Peace here, as I see that it is needed, I am only writing my case for further justification reply

I do not know how you measure number of searches on IMDb, but no, it is not sufficient evidence of a large fan base. The article does not make clear what actual achievements are claimed for Saari - only "writer" on "The Island Story" (which I cannot find on IMDb) and on "Bond#24", which must be some way off as Bond#23 is not yet released. Wikipedia's measure is notability, established by "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" - see WP:42; the article does not show any, and I have not found any by searching. IMDb is not considered a reliable source, because much of what it says is user-supplied. Since you have asked Michig, who deleted it, if you want to proceed your next step is WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 11:46, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was never said that those were made into movies. And Bond is written for Danjaq, and have been there at least for consideration, and so few have done that that it can be used in CV, so therefore it is correct; and not some way off.

True, that IMDb is user-supplies. Not true that IMDb ranking can be disregarded. IMDb ranking is based on IMDb searches for any given name, and this issue is already in WP:Deletion review

But this is all besides the point.

You don't have any guidelines for film industry people, although you said so.

There are many film industry rankers, but only one industry standard and that is IMDb

So you judge musicians with Billboard list, but you do not use IMDb ranking

And moreover you do not " know " or possess knowledge of what are the film industry standards and therefore you are judging film industry people like anyone else but not systematically like musicians

So what I would say, that get to know what are industry standards and use them to set a strict cut line

Until then your treatment of film industry people is off

and what you say of 400000 ( very conservative estimate ) is not evidence of large fan base is also off, because it clearly is.
