Economic democracy[edit]

Hi Spebi,

Glad to see you're back, though I also see you're very busy. I remember a while back feeling very alone in the world of Wikipedia, as I thought we'd lost you for good. I'm happy to see I was wrong about that.

This is mainly a heads-up for you regarding the Wikipedia article on 'Economic democracy'. I might need help with that in the future. For several years, I've actually been the primary editor of that article. But recently, some others have apparently taken an interest. Good for them. I have no objection to that. In fact, I welcome their assistance.

But like most people, they seem to have an axe to grind, and they tend to dump all of their opinions in the Lead Section of the article. Am I mistaken in assuming this is inappropriate, according to Wikipedia guidelines? When you have time, perhaps you could check the revision history and the discussion page for the article, and let me know what you think of my responses to their approach.

On the discussion page, I've also noticed that "this article is within the scope of WikiProject Cooperatives and WikiProject Business, collaborative efforts to improve the coverage of Cooperatives and Business on Wikipedia" -- but "this article has been rated as Stub-Class on the project's quality scale and as Low-importance on the project's importance scale".

What that mean? Is the article really that bad? What needs to be done to improve it? Criticism is all fine and good, but it doesn't help much without specific guidelines for correcting the problem.

Can you help? I'm an amateur, not an expert, and like you I have a 'real life' outside of Wikipedia that demands a great deal of my time. So very respectfully, what do I need to do to bring this article up to Wikipedia standards?

Many thanks for any help you can provide. You might still have my email address. If so, please use it. Thank you.

You're invited to the Canberra WikiMeetup on 20 November 2011[edit]

Hi! We're having a Canberra Wikimeetup on 20 November 2011 at Siren Bar in Gunghalin from 2pm to 4pm. It's most just a chance to chat with other local Wikipedians, get a chance to go a different sort of bar (which is reasonably kid friendly, serves real food, and has non-alcholic options), and, if you're interested, learning more about what Wikimedia Australia and local GLAM projects are happening. We'd love to see you and any Wikipedia/Wikimedia/wiki loving friends you have there. --LauraHale (talk) 07:22, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why the page "Bangla (band)" has been deteled?[edit]

Hi, don't misunderstand me, I think that page Bangla (band) was not so unimportant. That band reflects a time of rebirth or reconstruction of old Baul songs in current century. It was an inspiration to the other indie bands to redo baul songs and their influence on the culture of Bengal. Also it was important as they reflects the social situations of Bangladesh at that time. I think more care should be taken before a complete remove. You may compact if there was other pages related to it. Subhendu.luv (talk) 18:05, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Hi! Hope everything's well. I was searching for the article titled Bangla (band) and found that it was deleted by you on 20 December 2007 because of lack of significance of the band. I want to rewrite the article with providing proper reliable sources claiming the band's notability. It would be helpful for me if you can userfy the deleted article in the draft space User:Kmzayeem/Bangla (band). Thanks --Zayeemtalk 12:15, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of change[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Annastacia Palaszczuk qld mp.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Annastacia Palaszczuk qld mp.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:03, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hell Hawk, hi, that was the kind of researched response that was required in the first place -- so good on Drown Soda for doing that. Removing information without explanation like on your part, however, was not helpful in the slightest, even if you were right. Neither was your language. Don't swear at me on my talk page. "Removing information without explanation like on your part, however, was not helpful in the slightest, even if you were right." No, sorry but being right is the whole, and ONLY point. Don't go undoing correct edits.Hell Hawk (talk) 07:33, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you're really in a position to be telling me what is right at the moment. You should have never made the above comments targeting me and it's astonishing you haven't even acted to retract them or apologise for it. That would be the right thing to do. With regards to the actual topic, if you read my talk page message, you would see that I invited you to comment and explain your original removal of content in a discussion on the talk page. That is usually what is expected when people make deletions without explanations. Another user happened to intervene and explain on your behalf. So that's good. Thanks, seb26 (talk) 07:39, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I explained it, you reverted it for no reason. There was no info in the first place to suggest he was Swedish (beyond partial ancestry which is not relevant). Again, DO NOT UNDO CORRECT EDITS. That is helpful to ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. If you're not sure someone's wrong, DON'T CHANGE IT. Hell Hawk (talk) 07:45, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hell Hawk: Please kindly stop replying in this section. This is my last reply as well. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Matangi/Maya/M.I.A., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Melbourne Film Festival (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Australia portals and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). A tag has been placed on Portal:Australia portals requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section P2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a portal based on a topic for which there is no non-stub header article, and there are not at least three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to discuss under the title of that portal.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
