change[edit]

There are just as many cases when opinions are perfectly valid answers when they're not.

Valid- Q:Which is KDE and Gnome and which should I use? A:KDE and Gnome are *blah blah*. Personally I prefer KDE because it made the transistion from Windows easier. If you're transistioning from Windows to KDE you might want to try it because it's very similar.

Technically unneccessary but innocuous (and it adds humanness to the response!)- Q:I'm an eskimo and I've never seen a horse. How tall are they usually? A:Horses are usually about 5 feet tall. My favorite horse, the mustang, proudly stands at 6 feet so there is some variation.

Valid/Invalid contrasted- Q:I want to buy a game system. Which is better PS3 or XBOX360? A1:Technically speaking the PS3 is a more powerful machine than the XBOX360, but I think that that that gain isn't worth the several hundred dollars extra you'd pay for the PS3. Other critics cite its lack of good games. On the other hand many people consider the XBOX360's controller to be awkward but I've never had any problem with it, so you might not either. A2:No way man get a PS3 it 0wnz!!!

Note that if he had said "Yeah the XBOX360 clearly has some advantages I'd stick with XBOX360" than he's really just confirming the answer and adding credibility to it, which seems fine to me even though it's blatant opionion.
