Image copyright problem with Image:WomanInBlack.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WomanInBlack.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:Andy-Hunter.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Andy-Hunter.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TheWomanInBlack.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TheWomanInBlack.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:34, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MichaelHiggs01.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MichaelHiggs01.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:49, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:MichaelHiggs.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:MichaelHiggs.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

We do not use fair use images for living people, please stop adding this or similar images to the article. One Night In Hackney303 21:08, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Higgs[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate images to Wikipedia; it is considered to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. One Night In Hackney303 22:31, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate images to Wikipedia. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing. . Again, that fair use image cannot be used in the actor's article. One Night In Hackney303 11:22, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you add an inappropriate image to an article, you will be blocked from editing.

Yet again, please stop. We do not use fair use images when free ones are available. As Michael Higgs is a living person it's possible for a free alternative to be created, therefore we cannot use a fair use image in his article. One Night In Hackney303 12:25, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. One Night In Hackney303 12:36, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked for 48 hours for repeated insertion of non-free images into an article on a living person. Please use this time to read our policy on non-free content. If this happens again, the next time you'll be blocked indefinitely. Blueboy96 13:36, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't see anything wrong with the image of MichaelHiggs.jpg. I've asked more than once how to get an image on Wikipedia, because I just do not understand the rules about it, but I never got an answer whith which I can work. It's probably that my English isn't much, but I just do not understand it.

Decline reason:

That image is inappropriate. It is a non-free image. As you have already been told, you are not permitted to use non-free images to depict a living person. That you were doing so in blatant violation of the image license is also problematic. If you do not understand WP:IUP and WP:FUC, you may want to refrain from any further image uploads. — Yamla (talk) 16:27, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Non-Admin Comment- If you want to know why non-free images are not allowed on wikipedia, why don't you read WP:FAIR and go to the unacceptable section. Momusufan (talk) 15:40, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
