Carlos Vives

Hi. I thought I'd just explain why there are problem with your additions to the Carlos Vives article.

• You need to cite new claims added to the article. You can't just add facts without any indication where they came from.
• Adding things like "Vives is celebrated for his mastery of styles of music" is known on Wikipedia as peacocking. What does this actually mean? Who celebrates this? Show how he is celebrated, rather than saying it.
• Things like "He is considered to be one of the most influential singers from Colombia." are known on Wikipedia as weasel phrases. Who considers him this? Who are they and why are is their opinion notable?
• You don't need to link every mention of words like "Columbia". Once is enough.
• Wikipedia needs to explain everything neutrally. That means avoiding anything might sound like it is giving an opinion about Vives. This is an encyclopaedia article, not a fansite.

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello RomanianKnuckles! To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
• If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
