Sorry about the editing issue. I wasn't aware of a 3 edit rule. If you wouldn't mind, though, please go into the article and look at the edits that were being made. The other user continually attempted to add information that is already present in the article, along with some information that included false sources (i.e. a link led to nola.com, but there was no actual article, just a blank page). Nazi skinhead
It's not really a content dispute, unless that includes blatant POV pushing by a fascist editor who's engaged in blatant trolling at the RFCN regarding his user name. If you check the edits he made he removed a reliable source and replaced it with a {{fact}} tag, then with the subsequent edits he just removed the source and didn't add a tag. He claims some of the content belongs on the Skinhead page which might have merit to it, and had he actually added the content to that page there wouldn't be an issue. ReyBrujo I have completed all the steps you suggested and the page is now looking very sharp, all information is accurate and follows all Wikipedia guidelines as described by you. I am now wondering if you could possibly reconsider my request for protection on the page so I will no longer have to update the changes made by an anonymous user who has a tendancy to change items that he feels are not pertinant to the accuracy of Mr. Foree's career.
I will be adding updated information over the next few days , and I would like to know that people who are interested in the facts about Mr. Foree's career will have the most up to date and accurate facts as can be, without an editing war with this anonymous individual who tends to "feel" that my information is not pertinant at this time. I linked any information in the heading to accurate and current sources, yet this person insists on removing items or revising the Biography more to his own liking rather than the factual based biography I have implemented. ReyBrujo I'm requesting another time, for protection, after all the time discussing the image properties and requirements with you and following your suggestions, other users have gone on to Kens Wiki and changed the image 3 seperate times, one by a registered user and the second by an anonymous user who has repeatedly disputed everything I've done on the page, starting with the correct birthdate that I listed through then entire Biography which I edited in accordance to what Admin Glen had specified, and now has moved on to the image that I uploaded to the commons and showed where it came from and that it's use is perfectly legitimate. Pleas help me to maintain some sembelence of legitimacy instead of me having to go into the wiki everyday and remove false information or edit the photo that Mr Foree himself, ask that be used on his own wiki.
I'm trying to be patient and discreet, but I run a link from Mr Foree's site to the wiki and daily I get emails from users of his site stating that the facts and BIO have been changed or the image isn't there any longer.Being his webmaster I have his facts and a disclaimer on his site to state that all information and promotional images can be used on wikipedia. The facts are accurate and from the source itself, Ken Foree. I also handle his IMDB page most of the time and since then the facts regarding his career have been updated and any inaccuracies have been fixed.Please reconsider my request and protect his site from the passerby who feels that they may have more accurate facts than the man himself and/or change the promotional image that he himself would prefer to be in place on a titel that summarizes his career and biography. It seems that my other client Sid Haig's wiki is protected for very much the same reasons and it would be greatly appreciated if you could reconsider based on my points.

- Sorry to step in here ReyBrujo (whoever you are), but I would like to point out that the reason I changed the image to a different one is that 1) it is listed under a Creative Commons licence as well as the GDFL, and so more usable and persuant to the image use policy and 2) the original image is a promotional picture and so may be risky when using it due to commercial concerns. DC seems to be under the impression that being the soulmate of Ken Foree allows him to hold court over his article, where is evidenced by the practically unanimous reverts that he has carried out to everyone else's edits to it on the history. Perhaps you could explain to him (as he won't listen to me) that there may be a conflict of interest here, and he should either chill out or take a break? --84.68.162.114 21:53, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- In fact, DC has just given me a similar telling-off on my talk page, where he claims the image he prefers is "an image that MR FOREE himself asked to be used". I was asked for an image to be used from one of his photoshoots that would be fitting of a biography page Anon. Since I have many of his images I chose the one I felt looked best, the same promotional image that is used across the web for appearances, acting biographies, etc etc ... And I followed the guidelines set forth by Reybrujo in accordance to wikipedia rules.DC

I know our waiting period isnt over yet, but I would just like to say that the User:Mr.e-i-b is being very uncivil towards all parties involved. I have several times politely mentioned to him to please desist with name-calling and other uncivil activity per WP:Civility and he totally dismisses my reminders, openly asserting his right to call people ignorant and be rude. I am not the only user to say something to him. Outside of this content dispute, I think the user needs to be warned and/or reprimanded for blatantly violating wp etiquette. Question
Just coming here with a question (came across you whilst editing the J Krishnamurti article).
I notice that articles often have a mixture of American and British English spelling and sometimes grammar. Is there a page on WP where this has been/is discussed? As an example the word, 'wooly' in the K article would be spelt by me as'woolly'. Thank you. :) 89.240.7.84 09:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi there. It is accepted that articles about British topics should be in British spelling, while US topics should be in American spelling. For other topics, the English is decided by the first major contribution done to the article. If it has been done in British English, it should stay to it; if it was in American, it should stay in American. When an article has mixed spelling, and it is neither American nor British, you should ask in the talk page whether the editors agree to move it to either spelling. Note that if an article has a determined spelling, and is moved to another spelling without a valid justification (either consensus in the talk page to switch to another spelling, or without the "British topic-British spelling, American topic-American spelling" rule), it may be viewed as disruption (there is a precedent at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Jguk). Porcupine Tree Image
I completely understand your decision for using the free image, but quite frankly, that free image is horribly inadequate. The band consists of Steven Wilson, Gavin Harrison, Colin Edwin, and Richard Barbieri. John Wesley only plays with them at concerts, and plays an infinitely smaller role in making their music. Also, the image you provide gives a good view of 2 performers, a somewhat obstructed view of another, and then the back of another's head somewhere in the background. When I first saw the image I wasn't sure who the fourth person they were referring to was. If you have a better free image loaded somewhere by all means use that instead. I just find too many things wrong with this picture to see it as a viable alternative to free use. Also, I'd started a discussion on the talk page to discuss what to do about the image. - We could protect many pages, like Wikipedia:List of administrators, but we don't. The spirit of Wikipedia is to use protection as a last measure, that vandals may deface the page is not a good one, nor the fact that the page requires few edits per month. - I agree with the general sentiment, but not its application here. That a page is a likely vandalism target is not sufficient justification to permanently protect it, nor is the fact that a page barely requires modification. But when these two factors combine, we need to ask ourselves what the community stands to gain (and lose).
- This is the free encyclopedia that "anyone can edit," but when the potential harm far outweighs the potential benefits, we need to apply common sense. I saw that you are interested in this article, which has recently been proposed for deletion. I'm in favor of keeping the content of this article, but working on it in order to make it better. I've proposed merging it with another article (probably the main Dragonlance article) where the context of this timeline would add value to the other article. Perception of Wealth Theory
The theory was created by ?? in the late 80’s and is based on the films My Fair Lady (1964) and Wall Street (1987) it is the belief that if you can speak, dress, and act as if you are wealthy then the wealthy will let you in their inter circle and once in you can use the network of contacts and information to create your own wealth. Then making the perception a reality.
The theory is based on the “Seven Deadly Sins” and will cause large groups of people to live beyond their means the “keeping up with the Joneses” this affect will cause real-estate in wealthy community to rise at a rapped pace over a long timeframe until it collapses. Old Image maps
Have another question. Currently for Illinois, we are in the process of putting new maps up through the process of city coordinates and such (see Stillman Valley, Illinois). - Hi there. I understand your indignation. However, we have our own set of rules for external links, and boards are heavily discouraged. If it is the official board, then the official site will have a link to it, which makes a link in the Wikipedia entry superfluous. And the fact that the boards can only be checked after the user registered goes against our own policies: the external links are supposed to be useful for everyone. If you need to register an account in order to view the contents, then it is not useful for casual readers. I know the worries of spam, but Wikipedia does not forbid anyone from at least reading the contents of the site, and we expect external links to at least have that courtesy in order to be inserted here. Got another here for you 2005 Texas vs. Ohio State football game was nominated for deletion, I personally don't see how this is notable for a wiki entry, so I voted to delete it. Wii
They are just estimating the sales, not reporting them as the actual sales. I have no problem with Europe since reliable sales numbers aren't released on a regular basis like in Japan or North America. NPD does track sales though and report actual numbers rather than just guess, and they will be releasing numbers for the US and Canada will be released next Thursday. We actually went through this last December when an analyst estimated 2 million sales worldwide een though no one else said that much. The actual North American numbers will be announced in less than a week, so why not just wait rather than use a sites guessed numbers? TJ Spyke 05:43, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
