December 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi Ratfae! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at John Philip Shenale that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to John Philip Shenale Discography, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. David Biddulph (talk) 21:38, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the template by mistake and not on purpose. I did many edits today adding albums and I apologize for my mistake. Ratfae (talk) 22:13, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ratfae. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page John Philip Shenale, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I am raising this based on your comments at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Teahouse&diff=1125597375&oldid=1125593155&diffmode=source - are you in contact with John Philip Shenale? Kj cheetham (talk) 21:57, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a professional editor, I don't own any kind of organization and I have started editing the page of JPS since I am familiar with his work. I am not a relative of his or a work partner. I havedn't added anything that involves my personnal opinion. I created a page about his discography and I intend to write some more things about his work which can be easily found with a google search but there is not much on wiki.
I haven't received any kind of payment and this is not an advertisment. Since I am writing about a living person, I informed him on my intentions and once I am done I will ask for his opinion since it's his work and I don't want to cause any problems to anyone. Ratfae (talk) 22:12, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll respond at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Uploading_photos as that's where the main discussion seems to be. -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:25, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Which part of "Linkedin.com is NOT a reliable source" do you not understand? You repeatedly add content from this source and use it to reference existing content, please stop. Theroadislong (talk) 08:58, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ok. I will not try to edit anything ever again. I will not create any problem again. Ratfae (talk) 09:31, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

repeatedly adding inappropriate categories[edit]

Please stop adding inappropriate categories to John Philip Shenale. Theroadislong (talk) 12:08, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for that. I will stop adding categories. Ratfae (talk) 12:11, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate tone[edit]

You added “The ever-shifting allegiances, secrets and betrayals that drive episodic plot action afford Gemma, the martiarch of Sons of Anarchy, an uncommon position of behind-the-scenes power.” to the The Forest Rangers (band) article, if it is a quote you need to say so if it’s not then it is totally inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia. Theroadislong (talk) 13:56, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was taken from the book, I will delete it. Ratfae (talk) 14:02, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The article is already tagged for having way too many quotes so adding more is not very helpful. Theroadislong (talk) 14:22, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted it. Ratfae (talk) 14:25, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reference error messages[edit]

Please use the preview function to check for referencing errors; these show up in red (in the refs section) and have a link to the help page to assist correction. There have been multiple instances of incorrect referencing in recent days or weeks and you should fix these yourself and not just leave them for othe volunteers to deal with. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 14:17, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't figured out hot to fix that. I am using the citation template, I write the elements as shown and some times it turns out that I am doing something wrong but I don't know how to fix it in source editing. I am trying to figure that out still yet still I am failing at this. I don't look down to it and I don't mean to be offensive to anyone with a helping hand.
