Stop Sylvia Browne from stopping StopSylviaBrowne.com[edit]

I was reading a sample desist order on [1] and some other attorney contacts regarding similar matters with other sites. You'd probably want to remove any copyrighted images with logos (like screen shots from Montel including the logo). Other than that I can't think of any grounds her or her attorneys would have to litigate this. If the letter you received is from her attorney ONLY and threatens to seek action, they are probably trying to scare you off. As I understand it, an actual Cease and Desist order has to come from a judge, and because a lot of people don't realize that; Lawyers will send legal looking threats to pursue action they know they couldn't actually win. The idea being that the individual who receives the threat doesn't know this. A situation analogous to an old west gunfighter challenging someone else to a duel knowing he doesn't have any bullets. Since the other person doesn't know the gunfighter has no ammunition, they are likely to back down rather than risk being shot. Anynobody 23:02, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to hear her lawyers transparent threats didn't shut down the site. For a while today I was afraid you were going to terminate the site, because it seemed to be down right after I found out about the letter. I'm also thrilled you posted it too, thanks. Two things[edit]

First, a polite pointer about Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy which you should be careful about when editing Sylvia related material. Second, I'd like to send you an email but you haven't enabled your Wikipedia email account. JoshuaZ 04:53, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joshuaz, I rarely come to this page, so this is the first time I read your comment. I don't know that I've edited Browne's page since I started my site. I may have, but I don't think so. And I have no idea how to enable a wiki email account, but you can email me throught the StopSylviabrowne web site's Contact Page. RSLancastr 07:30, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kaz dead?[edit]

Hi Robert,

Have you seen the recent edits to the Kaz article claiming she died last week? Do you know anything about this? Is it true, is it anonymous vandalism, or could it be "Kaz" herself?

I didn't know about your Sylvia Browne site -- I'll have to check it out.

Cheers! Laura (Perodicticus 12:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]
