Re: Christ: The Dark Years

Hello, I have edited my contribution and stated that Christ: The Dark Years is a book etc. I am new at Wikipedia but am willing to learn. Can you tell me other changes I should make so that my article meets the wiki guidlines. I could not see how to make a contents box and am not sure if I would put the table of contents into it. Can you point me to the directions for this if you have time? Also should I make a wiki page of myself the author? The book is published by Dominion house a small publisher in Virginia. I am not concerned with promoting the book on wiki but i would like it to be included on wiki. If you have time can you offer advice or edit my article so that it meets the guidelines?

Thanks Brian D Diederich

List of rail accidents in the United Kingdom

Since you have contributed to List of rail accidents in the United Kingdom, this is to inform you of a discussion which I have started at Talk:List of rail accidents in the United Kingdom#Criteria for inclusion. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:43, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Re: Adam Lyons

While you've done a more than excellent job cleaning up the article, I still can't quite see how it deserves to remain on Wikipedia. That being said, bully for you - your version is the best one that I've seen to date, and with just a little more work, it'd be keepable. :) Lithorien (talk) 16:12, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. I don't care that much about the article, and it is a bit on the edge of notability. If you don't think it should stay, fair enough. Quantpole (talk) 17:00, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey Quantpole, I remember you voted in an AfD of Adam Lyons, and did a lot of cleanup on the article. There is a similar AfD going on with a guy called Jeremy Soul. Any input from you would be interesting as there is the usual meatpuppetry going on I think, so some fresh eyes would be useful regarding the notability and sources on it

Here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Jeremy_Soul DRosin (talk) 19:59, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Re: Bus station articles

Yeah, well, there might less info now, but I am planning to expand them later, with the information I got from Metro Transit's website, and other sites.

Haifa Wehbe

her real birth date is 1970 this is well known 1974 and 1976 are fake dates created by her PR.Miss-simworld (talk) 00:29, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

You could well be right. However, unless this is backed up by reliable sources we cannot include it. In looking into this I've seen dates of 1967, 1970, 1972, 1974 and 1976 given for her birthdate, all of which are not from the best of sources. Quantpole (talk) 08:44, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Arthur Shelton

An editor has nominated Arthur Shelton, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arthur Shelton and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. — Eastmain (talkcontribs) 23:59, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Yorkshire Cricketer

All first class cricketers are notable on wikipedia, as a moment's research would have shown you. Your nomination simply wastes everyone's time. Have a nice day. Nick mallory (talk) 11:55, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, I will. Quantpole (talk) 12:09, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

"Unsourced"

I have just added sources to my addition. So your message is misplaced. This person is Jewish that is sourced in the text, and also in the text you can read how Chomsky refers to his right-wing jigling, btw. So do not remove correct information! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Miqoutaciks (talkcontribs) 13:03, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

This is not sourced: "He often wrote about Greece with air of supposed superiority, describing its people as all but inferior and scarcely being able to hold up his contempt." and is nothing like encyclopedic in tone. Calling his writings "right-wing" is unsourced. "Kaplan argues for position of cultural imperialism, describing local people as unworthy savages, that need and deserve only foreign rule[1], showing almost racist contempt for everything un-Jewish and un-American." is not supported by the reference (but rather is a point of view reading of that source) you have provided and is again completely unencyclopedic. We absolutely do not allow negative point of view edits in articles on living people. Quantpole (talk) 13:08, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I note that you have commented on the first phase of Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

As this RFC closes, there are two proposals being considered:

  1. Proposal to Close This RfC
  2. Alternate proposal to close this RFC: we don't need a whole new layer of bureaucracy

Your opinion on this is welcome. Okip 03:25, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Sheba Akhtar

I was about to put a speedy on Sheba Akhtar when I noticed that you had removed the speedy that you had earlier put there. The article seems like a resume of someone who is not very notable. Can you explain? Thanks. Peter Chastain (talk) 11:14, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

I put the speedy on but then did a quick look around and there seems to be some stuff about her. It's a terrible article but I'm not sure what it would be speediable as. I originally put A7 but there is an assertion of notability. I guess a G11 would be OK as a resume only promotes someone, but I'm not sure if that applies to people. If you think there's a valid speedy tag then feel free to go ahead. Quantpole (talk) 12:06, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
I've removed the resume stuff now. Still needs more cleaning up though. Quantpole (talk) 12:08, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
