Information icon Hello, I'm Blaze Wolf. I noticed that you recently removed content from Amapiano without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Gqom, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 11:16, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Dlala Thukzin, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. He is not only a gqom Music producer, but afro tech, and amapiano too. dxneo (talk) 10:03, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

The previous ([1],[2]) references, were relevant. However in direct correlation and context to the artists predominant genre as well as article context, which is clear and comprehensible for the reader, not "social media dispute" , nor what appears to be only 1-3 "experimental songs" in comparison to his entire, catalogue. The newer references, are over and above, significantly more relevant,( [3], [4]). For the artists music info box, it appears there would be 1 predominant, listed genre. Which would correlate with the artists' catalogue and career. Perhaps we could expand the article and detail or highlight, blending genres, using the previous sources? Here is another ([5]), which could be made use of, for that. Qaqaamba (talk) 10:19, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
Another ([6]) we could use in an expansion, paragraph detailing and mention blending of genres, since this reference mentions one, other genre which wasn't listed before, too.In conclusion, the main genre is gqom and we could work on an expansion paragraph together, mentioning and detailing the other genres? Hello. The references you placed on the specific sentence I re-structured/ re-wrote at Dlala Thukzin which you have now reverted does not mention the artist, publishing amapiano. In fact, the references as well as all other available green references clearly stipulate the genres kwaito, gqom and afro house/afro tech. I couldn't find any references that coud be placed in the reference section stipulating that the artist publishes amapiano (green nor red). I highly doubt my edit was disruptive nor was it my intention. Your edit may be disruptive as the edit doesn't correlate with what / was stipulated in the references. Qaqaamba (talk) 06:42, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
@Dxneo I've added a reference which appears to confirm that he publishes various genre styles. In that case I was wrong in stipulating that no source stipulated that he published amapiano, for that I apologize. However as per my intention, edit and references, it appears no reference explicitly includes a quote where the artist specifically mentions , specific genres he fuses or blends. It appears often stipulated by journalists/ writers which could be a misintepretation of the artist stipulating that he is versatile or "various sounds", furthermore as a listener of the artist' music, I have never up to date heard any song which directly displays a blend of the mentioned genres, only a display of him publishing seperate work styles , of various genres, from song to song or album to album, not "blending" or "fusing". As per "fluidity or versatilty" which in this context appears to be "not being constricted or confined to one genre". Qaqaamba (talk) 09:55, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gqom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mbube. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

Please stop using InternetArchiveBot to fix dead links

... especially not with the " Add archives to all non-dead references" box checked, particularly on large articles like Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba, where I've reverted your edits. Checking that box clutters the article with archive links that would most likely be useless and may or may not be accurate (InternetArchiveBot isn't 100% perfect, neither is the Wayback Machine that it mostly relies upon). Such actions are highly controversial (see this discussion, for example). Have you previously had an account here? Your editing pattern is more than a little odd for a new user. Graham87 (talk) 15:34, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello @Graham87. That's interesting to know, I had no idea that it fixes dead links too, thank you very much for the insight as well as discussion, link. By odd do you mean learning " a bit too fast"? Is that a good or a bad, thing? Qaqaamba (talk) 15:40, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
How did you find this tool? The link in the page history says "Fix dead links".,which is ... self-explanatory. Unless you found it another way. Yes I mean learning a bit too fast ... that can be a good or a bad thing, depending on the situation. Graham87 (talk) 16:41, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
@Graham87 I'm a fast learner and perhaps going a bit too fast, evidently, lol. I'll be mindful to actually read intricately instead of speed reading as I usually love to do. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the former and not latter 😊. Thanks for the knowledge drop, chat & happy editing 💃! Qaqaamba (talk) 18:19, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

Niniola and afrohouse

Hello, you keep deleting information as to regards to the issue of afro house obviously afro house in south Africa is different from the one niniola is doing in Nigeria with the difference being the fusion of afrobeats to house. In the afrobeats article which I link it to clearly delves in to this so why the deletion. And then you put in afrobeats for ninola which is confusing because for the most part she has never claimed to be doing afrobeats. Bernadine okoro (talk) 21:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

As per stipulated. The artist' genre or style definitely appears to not be afro-house. Songs even include the log drum which is amapiano and upon further inspection, closest relation appears to be afrobeats. Furthermore, there is a section clarifying all of this in the afrobeats article. As well as a green source stipulating that the genre was mistaken for afrobeats, UK funky and sometimes even other genres, too. Perhaps you could engage or talk regarding this at afrobeats article and the editor(s) who created the section. However, to reiterate as per listening to the artist' catalogue and main bodies of work , the artist is definitely not historically or monumentally affiliated to what appears to be afro house , nor is afro house a fusion genre of afro beats, either. Which you had included at the afrobeats article amongst many other genres which is a further incorrect usage of the infobox parameters. Please stop reverting or engaging in distruptive edits which may appear to be misleading to readers as well as damaging to the encyclopedia. Qaqaamba (talk) 22:03, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
Yes, her style of music is not the south African version of afro house which I clearly differentiated on the page and like I stated on the page "...this style of music combines other Electronic dance musical sounds..." you would understand why it has log drum percussive bassline just like Amapiano since amapaino is an EDM genre. It seems as though what you have a problem with is the fact that the south African afro house and the version niniola is doing has the same name hence why in reverts and in this talk section you haven't even called it afro house. Unfortunately that’s what Niniola calls her style of music if you have any problems with that fact you would have to take it up to the singer, also when i was initially writing the section I called it "Nigerian Afro-house" I did this to make sure to differentiate the difference between the south African version and the version Niniola does I also went on to write this in the section "...this specific style is not the same as Afro House since its main musical fusion is Afrobeats with House music." I did this to also further differentiate between the two styles of music though the first part was removed by Harry. Also, I don't have to speak to the editor of the section since I created it. And as per listening to her catalogue is the reason why I wrote this in the section "This style of music is...associated with Niniola especially with her earlier works such as "Ibadi..." i wrote this because currently the style of afrobeats music that is popular in Nigeria is Afropiano a fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano and like any other artists in Nigeria Niniola has also jumped on the sound in fact she was the first Nigerian artist to include log drum percussive bassline from amapiano in her song ADDICTED but like i said her earlier works is afrohouse just like she claimed. The infobox parameters are supposed to summarize aspects within the article its expected of the reader to read down to where what’s on the infobox parameter is explained. You're actually the one engaging in disruptive editing especially considering that it has been written within the article that there is a difference between those two styles of music. And within the infobox on niniolas page you claimed that she is doing afrobeats it is of importance to note that she has never said that she does more of afrobeats that's an unsourced information from you. Bernadine okoro (talk) 23:31, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
@Bernadine okoro Since you created the section in the afrobeats article. It indicates that the genre is then afrobeats or an affiliation thereof.Absolutely no significant relation to Afro house or any other genre. The information you stipulated is also not correlating with the sources i.e. EDM. A Chinese can't claim that Hip hop is a different style of Hip hop from the US and only shares the same name. As per formely stipulated thus blatantly highlighting your what appears to be confusing edits which appear to be highly misleading. To reiterate, a green source stipulates that afro house was mislabeled and mistaken for other genres for years.Data as well as search results further displays this too for various South African artists' songs and genre tags. This appears to be one of those cases where a different genre is mislabeled or misidentified. You also keep on linking "afro house" to afrobeats. Incorrect linking is highly misleading as well as damaging to the purpose of the encyclopedia. Qaqaamba (talk) 23:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

Disruption of Rema's Article

Everything in his article, must be about him only. I'm not some new editor that you can order around to look at Wikipedia rules, because of your ego. If you want, you can create a page for Afro-rave by yourself, but don't add contents that doesn't relate to him to his article. I told you no one knew whether someone else starts or have been singing that genre before Rema. Roling Stone, The Guardian and every other outlets named him as the creator. So if you want to elaborate create a page for it. Yotrages (Yotrages) 10:17, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello @Yotrages. "No one knew", appears to be untrue as per created section over at [7]. In addition, please see ;[8] , [9], [10], [11]. Qaqaamba (talk) 09:47, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
You've tampered the article, it should have been, Career start and 2022 till present. Check Wizkid and Burna Boy's article, and you'll see how it should have been constructed. If you keep disrupting article like this, it won't be promoted to Good Article or Featured Article.

Your email

I did a google books search on "afro fusion", it yields 1,490 results. I think there are more than enough secondary sources available. Here is the link. You can mention this on AfD. Cheers! Chanaka L (talk) 06:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

Honestly, I'm not mad that it's on death row 'cause I truly understand why WikiProjects are a collaborative work. One cannot really do this alone, it's really difficult, draining and it gets confusing at some point. dxneo (talk) 07:45, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Afro fusion

I saw that you restored the sentence I removed without providing a source to support it. How many times are you going to claim that Freshlyground is the pioneer of Afro fusion when you do not have a source stating this? How many times are you going to claim that Afro fusion started in South Africa when you have failed to provide a source to support this? You need to provide a source to support all of genres you claimed Afro fusion derived from. I will revert your edits when I get to a computer, best believe that. You really had me believe that Afro fusion was a South African genre when it isn't. You aren't a credible editor and any info you add must be checked against the source. I will monitor all of your edits moving forward.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
