References to Advanced Fee Fraud (419) on the Nigeria page[edit]
Hi Picaroon,
I noticed that you moved the reference to Advance Fee Fraud to the Economy Section. Kindly review the (rather extensive) discussion on the Nigeria talk page which discusses how this information is not really appropriate under that section. Similar crime related information is decribed under "Demographics" and "Crime and Punishment" sections of other country, state and city pages e.g. USA. Centralized TV Episode Discussion[edit]
Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a few) TTN, Eusebeus and others. WikiProject Nigeria[edit]
Hi. You appear to be one of the most active members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria (and the only user name I recognize), so I'm letting you know that I created an assessment for the project. You can view the Editorial Team pages in Category:Nigeria articles by quality. I also added the assessment table to the project page, but you may want to move it around. Note, the statistics are not accurate as of yet. It shows 768 total articles, but this is far from the exact total (I suspect there may be upwards of a 1000 or more). The project will require multiple passes to get better numbers, and I suggest starting by emptying Category:Unassessed Nigeria articles and monitoring Wikipedia:Africa-related regional notice board/New articles. Disputed images and Wikipedia:No original research[edit]
Hi Picaroon,
I've proposed an amendment to Wikipedia:No original research that would strengthen (or more accurately, reiterate) the requirement of editors to reliably source interpretations of images in articles. This would particularly apply to depictions of allegorical or symbolic artworks or artifacts, where the meaning was not immediately clear or was subject to differing interpretations. You can see the text of the proposed amendment at Wikipedia talk:No original research#Interpretation of images - please feel free to leave comments.
Another editor involved in the discussion has suggested providing an example of "an actual ongoing dispute to illustrate the problem". I believe you're active in editing or monitoring articles in controversial subject areas, and I was wondering if you were aware of any such ongoing or recent disputes. It would specifically have to concern something like an illustration of unclear meaning, which editors were disputing what it represented, maybe because of a lack of reliable sourcing about the image itself or about its interpretation. If you've come across anything like this scenario, could you please chip in at Wikipedia talk:No original research#Interpretation of images? -- ChrisO (talk) 22:41, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

African Projects[edit]
To a degree, you're right about saying that there probably won't be a lot of interest in many of the African projects, until and unless something dramatic happens in the area. However, it is reasonable to try to make sure that all the articles are assessed, and that individuals interested in those articles be able to fairly conveniently access the articles relevant to their particular subject. In a sense, those so-called "projects" are actually just subprojects of the main Africa project with the bigger "WikiProject" name, much like the various subprojects of WikiProject Australia. And, like the Biography project has found out, it also makes sense to try to subdivide big projects into smaller ones so that the 1.0 bot doesn't get overpowered with the number of articles relevant to a given project. If there will be sufficient interest in each individual area to justify a project, I honestly somewhat doubt that to a degree in at least a few cases. As a form of "accounting function" for the various African nations for the main Africa Project, they do make sense. I personally anticipate most of the discussion will still take place at either the notice board or the main WikiProject Africa page for most of the nations most of the time.
To an extent, these might just be in many cases a way for a few number of editors to keep track of the articles relevant to a particular nation. If those editors are interested in the subject, though, then the articles on individual nations are clearly important enough to I think justify the various new groups. There are already more than a few religion projects which have few if any active editors, but those projects have in some cases managed to get several of their main articles to GA class or better anyway, and I think that if we can help improve the content of several of the important articles with a little extra emphasis on the nations, that it's probably in the best interests of wikipedia as a whole. I hope.
Also, by creating them all now, using the same banner, we'll help ensure that there aren't separate banners created for each of them later, and then maybe having the project go inactive and have the banners replaced or removed. Maybe that's not a good answer, but it's the one I had in creating them. John Carter (talk) 18:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Nigeria banner[edit]
I think it shouldn't be a problem integrating the parameters, although it may take a few days to get to it. I can also set up separate importance parameters for each African subproject. I managed to do it with South America, which has substantially fewer subprojects, and it shouldn't be very difficult to do it with Africa, if maybe a bit time-consuming. Picaroon, I don't mind if the decision on my name being added to Ehud Lesar ArbCom is made by an administrator. By neither VartanM, nor Fedayee nor Eupator represent any authority whatsoever to do so, especially VartanM doing so by 2 reverts today. So can you please, explain this to the three fellas, who turned even ArbCom page into a battleground of reverts. On the subject of Librorum, who besides you disruptively sockpuppets on both India and Judaism related articles, seemingly attempting to aggravate certain other users? The only other user I've had suggested to me as a puppeteer was a user who stopped editing around a year ago, with no apparent motive for returning with disruptive puppets. Nevertheless, I've replaced the tag suggesting you with {{subst:indef}} to indicate my uncertainty about which puppeteer this was.

Hello there, I'm the uploader of the Fatah flag image. The image was deleted about a week ago, so I re-uploaded it with a different license. I need to know how I could keep it. - Well, I'll be honest with you. I added the license without really knowing what it means. But I think the image does meet the fair use criteria. Its certainly not replaceable, it will be used only when necessary, its significant to the subject, it was published outside wikipedia, etc. Anyhow I'll add a fair-use rationale tomorrow; I'm going to sleep right now.
