Reference Errors on 19 March[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:22, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sonam Lhamo has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. KSFTC 08:09, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Philologick. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Titus Vettius Scato, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Vinod 09:13, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:15, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Philologick. Firstly thanks for your additions to the above. However the following line seems to have been garbled:

Starting with the origins of the people of Phoenicia...

I have fixed it as I think it should be but you may like to refine it. The rest of this section seems to be fine. All the best. DadaNeem (talk) 05:02, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ellagic acid[edit]

Hi, your edit added an erroneous nowiki and removed pecans and walnuts. You apparently noticed that your claim about these not being in the source was erroneous and put them back in, but you didn't notice the automatic warning about the nowiki edit. I've noticed that i make quite a few erroneous edits using the visual editor and a mobile device. You seem to be an expert in the field since you apparently have access to wiley.com. Could you add a free reliable online source or recommend where i can look for one? It's hard to believe pomegranates aren't a good source of ellagic acid since it was among the fruits it was first isolated from. --Espoo (talk) 17:22, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Black psychology[edit]

This will cause a proper Proposed deletion template to be placed. For more information, please consult WP:PROD. You may try again at Black psychology if you wish. Thanks. Ways to improve Giant Rooks[edit]

Hi, I'm Rosguill. Philologick, thanks for creating Giant Rooks!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article's subject may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline (see also WP:BAND). The easiest way to demonstrate notability and protect the article from deletion is to provide citations to in-depth coverage in multiple, independent, reliable, secondary sources. Do note that interviews with the subject are not necessarily considered a suitable demonstration of notability, and other forms of coverage are preferable (see WP:INTERVIEW).

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

An article you recently created, History of Women's Literature in China, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – DarkGlow • 17:44, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Philologick. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:History of Women's Literature in China, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.

Hello, Philologick. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "History of Women's Literature in China".

Variolation[edit]

Hi and thanks for your edit (removal) of the claims that Chinese variolation came from India. I myself found that hard to believe when I was digging into the sources but couldn't disprove it. If you can, can you share the link with me, I'd be grateful. Thank you! Danial Bass (talk) 10:23, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I personally found it hard to believe because I've read a few monographs on the history of Indian-Chinese encounters and exchanges and that never came up - which seemed quite surprising if there was any evidence for it. That made me want to search for evidence.
Check out the last paragraph before Conclusions. Unfortunately, I can't find either of the sources cited as 15 and 16. It's becoming a major problem on Wikipedia that I've noticed - Indian precedence is being conjured up and inserted into Wikipedia articles all over the place, often somewhat hidden like in this case to claim Indian precedence without drawing much attention to it. I probably gravitate towards the types of articles that get vandalized in this way, but it's making me really worry about the future of Wikipedia as the rest of the world goes online and starts adding their own nationalistic rewritings of history to it. Our policy that we're not supposed to think, just make sure it's sourced is really going to ruin Wikipedia as more and more nationalists produce their own sources to then cite.

Oh defitinely, ethno-nationalistic re-writings in Wikipedia is a big problem here, that's what happens when anyone can edit. Thanks for the link! Danial Bass (talk) 11:24, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
