Undo and Redo Buttons[edit]

Hello again PPelberg, we are discussed about adding ‎Undo and Redo Buttons in wikitext editor on mobile at here and you said that "we plan to revisit some time after July of this year". What about the result? Thanks! ⇒ AramTalk 12:25, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Aram, hi – I'm glad you followed up and I appreciate you being patient with me. I wanted to reply once I had an answer for you, which I now do: for the time being, introducing any new functionality into the mobile wikitext editing toolbar is out of scope for our work on the mobile VE editing toolbar. This means we will not be able to add "undo" or "redo" buttons as part of this initial work. With this said, I've pulled the ticket we were talking about ealier into the toolbar epic we are working on. This way: the team can consider working on it if we finish with the work we have planned earlier than expected.
If anything else comes up, I hope you will let me know. PPelberg (WMF) (talk) 21:43, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
EDIT: Linking to the correct ticket we talked about in April.
Hello again, Mmm... I didn't understand anything! We talked about Wikitext Editor on mobile (not VE). Can you explain it better and easier? Thank you! ⇒ AramTalk 16:20, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I'm sorry :) I was wanting to communicate that our work is limited to the mobile visual editor toolbar right now. Meaning, we will not be able to make changes to the mobile wikitext editing toolbar at this moment. Please let me know if I can try to make anything more clear. PPelberg (WMF) (talk) 23:45, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ough! No, I understood all. Thanks for your all answers! ⇒ AramTalk 18:10, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
For sure :) If you will be at Wikimania, please let me know. It would be great to meet in person! PPelberg (WMF) (talk) 15:59, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No, I just a wikipedian. I have no idea what Wikimania is it. ⇒ AramTalk 15:27, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Aram, Oh, okay! It's annual conference hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikimania @PPelberg (talk) 16:12, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(test) What makes a good coffee shop?[edit]

1: What makes a good coffee shop?

2: It depends. What are you looking to do/feel? Are you looking to write? To read? Catch up with a friend? Listen to music? Think/reflect? Is what you're wanting to do work-related?

1: Umm, let's say I'm wanting to think for work?

2: Ok, well, what have you found helpful for helping you "think for work" in the past?

1: Let's see: my computer + internet (so, wifi and power outlets), being around other people, good room temperature (not too hot, not too cool), a nice window to look from and observe some kind of activity (e.g. people walking), reasonably comfortable seating + tables

2: This helps. Now, how far are you willing to travel?

Reply feature at en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/[edit]

Hi PPelberg, I was wanting to try the new reply feature at the above site however my IP bizarrely appears to be blocked there?, when I try and create an account I get:
"Your IP address has been automatically blocked because it was used by another user, who was blocked by ‪Edit filter‬. The reason given is:
Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Indira0157". The reason given for Indira0157's block is: "Automatically blocked by edit filter.
Description of matched rule: Block the "Nothing-to-say-about-me-really" spammer".""

I'd rather not try it and reveal my IP so wasn't sure if something could be done so that I can create an account and test the feature,
Many thanks, Regards, –Davey2010Talk 20:40, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Davey2010 I'm glad you thought to write. That seems curious for the IP address you're using to be blocked and for you to have received that message. While I try to see what could be causing that issue, what happens when you try to create an account by following these steps?
1. Go to en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org
2. Click the "Create account" link to the left of the "Log in" in link in the top right corner of the window
3. Creating a username, password, etc.
@PPelberg (talk) 01:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi PPelberg, Just tried that and it's the exact same message however the username for that is "JonelleMaier71" but blocker etc are all the same,
Thanks, Regards, –Davey2010Talk 10:58, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried creating an account here and it took me to the creation page (username/pasword) but on the Beta one I can't get that far, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 11:09, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Davey2010, thank you for giving it another shot; I'm sorry you're still experiencing this issue. Are you okay with continuing this conversation on MediaWiki where it seems other people are reporting a similar issue? I just posted a response to the issue there: Topic:Vcwvt3bq03o5gv8h. @PPelberg (talk) 02:00, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To give a Dobos torte and spread the WikiLove, just place {{subst:Dobos Torte}} on someone else's talkpage, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
