HMS Pandora (1779)[edit]

Please note that it is considered incorrect to use text modifiers with date numbers (such as 17th) because this prevents date autoformatting from working properly. Thus, I have reverted your changes of today to the article HMS Pandora (1779) so that it retains the date autoformatting that was in place prior to the changes. Please see WP:DATE or leave a note at my talk page if you have any questions. Maralia 13:58, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re Pandora Track: I did not have actual positions for the Pandora, because as far as I know they went down with the ship. I drew the track according to the islands she visited. The track as drawn shows her nearest point to Pitcairn about 100 miles, but of course her actual nearest point is unknown. They did not sight Pitcairn, but they did come very close. Pandora Inn, Cornwall, UK. The Pandora Inn in Cornwall, UK contained a model of the HMS Pandora, as we discussed in June 2010. Unfortunately, the Inn and presumably the model ship were destroyed by fire on 24 March 2011, as reported by the BBC here. I wanted to let you know.
