Peppercorn A1 Class[edit]

Hi, thanks for your comments re the proposed revised infobox. I have left the barest mention of Tornado in the infobox for a number of reasons. Technically, it is an A1, being built to the design (with some modifications for technical, regulatory and operational reasons). Most sources say that it is an A1. You are probably aware of the recent edit war over this article. In view of that, I don't think it is a good idea to make wholesale changes to the article. Little by little is a better way to go - it's a bit like trying to find ½ a second in a Formula 1 racing car, almost impossible to do in one go, but find a tenth, and then another, and repeat the process and you get there eventually. Agree that the section on Tornado needs pruning. This will probably be easier to achieve if the article on Tornado can be brought up to GA status. Mjroots (talk) 07:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, my opinion is not that Tornado is not an A1, more that it's just one member of the class and that it's technical differences are best dealt with on it's page, possibly with a line saying something like 'the 2008 built 50th member of the class has many technical differences from the other members of it's class, these are dealt with in it's article'. I wasn't planning to get involved with the general edit war, just stating my opinion for what it's worth. I think your infobox is going in the right direction and the article will probably be sorted out in the end Oxyman24 (talk) 14:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
