Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to National Commodity Exchange Limited. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.ncel.com.pk/ and http://www.ncel.com.pk/PressRelease/Shaukat_Tareen_elected_chairman_NCEL.doc in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:National Commodity Exchange Limited with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:National Commodity Exchange Limited with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:National Commodity Exchange Limited saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Historical Value of Yen.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Historical Value of Yen.JPG. The copy called Image:Historical Value of Yen.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. License tagging for Image:Image-Khimaz.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Image-Khimaz.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Little context in Karachi downtown.jpg[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Karachi downtown.jpg, by Matticus78 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Karachi downtown.jpg is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Karachi downtown.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Fair use rationale for Image:NCEL Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:NCEL Logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Climate of Pakistan, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.geography-site.co.uk/pages/countries/climate/pakistan_climate.html. Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Image copyright problem with Image:Karachizoo1.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Karachizoo1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 05:09, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please resolve the issue by choosing an appropriate licensing tag for these images. (ESkog)(Talk) 05:11, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No one is accusing you of violating copyright. If those are your images, then you need to choose an appropriate copyright tag to put on the image description page. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:28, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sir-syed logo.JPG}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Sir-syed logo.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Speedy deletion of September, 2008[edit]

A tag has been placed on September, 2008, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Beeblebrox (talk) 04:56, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from September, 2008, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 05:01, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

A tag has been placed on Mitchell's Fruit Farms Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

You've uploaded File:PTV-Home1.JPG, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of police stations in Karachi, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of police stations in Karachi is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of police stations in Karachi, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Orphaned non-free media (File:Header1 copy.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Header1 copy.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:19, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blunders in Sindh Map[edit]

Fkehar (talk) 10:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fkehar (talk) 12:23, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fkehar (talk) 12:34, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fkehar (talk) 11:49, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SVG[edit]

A tag has been placed on National Commodity Exchange Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: National Commodity Exchange Limited. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:02, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In future if you want to move a page please use the move page feature rather then copying and pasting the content. The latter requires administrative tools to clean up the mess. Hut 8.5 16:49, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Just would like to tell you, your montage at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa looks great. Thanks for uploading the provincial emblem as well. Recently, Template:WP Pakistan has been updated with regional task forces; WikiProject Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is included. If you are interested, please do join! Request[edit]

In the File:Karachi montage.jpg, could you replace the image of the MCB tower with the File:Karachi City view towards port.jpg? The second pic looks much better and includes a view of the skyline..Drspaz (talk) 10:19, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Could you still modify the montage? I really think this image would make the montage look a lot better on the Karachi main page. I like some of your images. In this regard, I was wondering (if you have the time), that you could also create similiar ones for Peshawar and Quetta. The Peshawar article has always been adorned with the same image of Islamia college for some reason. Drspaz (talk) 17:26, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And also, I think the image of Mazar-e-Quaid on your version is a better view than the one on the main one. Drspaz (talk) 17:27, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lahore[edit]

Hey there, the Lahore article needs a montage, the previous one was deleted due to some reason. Mar4d (talk) 01:30, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Karachi seal/logo?[edit]

Hello, you replaced File:Karachi logo.svg with File:Logo_of_Karachi_Metropolitan_Corporation.png in the article on the city of Karachi. As a local, can you explain the difference between these two seals? Has the latter replaced the former, or is it used by a different entity? Please be advised, that the former file will be deleted from Wikipedia in less than a week unless it is restored to the article. --hydrox (talk) 18:26, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As you said that City District Government of Karachi has been discontinued, I understand that the seal is now redundant. However, File:Logo of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.png can not be used as the basis of an SVG rendition of the new seal, because it is of such low resolution. If you or someone else can find a higher resolution image of the seal, you can ask me or the folks at Wikipedia:Graphic Lab to make an SVG version of the new seal. --hydrox (talk) 18:37, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, those location maps for Karachi and Lahore look awesome. I'm looking forward to having a similair kind of template for Lahore as you've done for Karachi. Whenever you're free, could you also create location maps for each of the provinces of Pakistan? I notice that there is one for Sindh, perhaps it'd be a good idea to have similiar ones for others. They can be used in all articles related to cities and towns. Mar4d (talk) 11:21, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments - Pakistan[edit]

Hi Nomi887!

Wiki Loves Monuments, the world's largest photography competition, will be taking place in Pakistan this September. nice maps you created - like to contribute in OSM and using the data back to wikipedia?[edit]

Hi Nauman,

well down while you are contributing to the world via wikipedia. I saw the maps you created. Especially your "Karachi Transport Map" looked professional! How did you do it? Adding to and Using back OSM data is a really modern way to create maps. Its not only to be a small carographic designer, its more a big world wide supportive circle we live for.

If you like editing maps, OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a create big plattform to contribute world wide with your local information. For the maps you like to create in future you can add data to the OSM database very easily and you can use the data also for your own maps. There is also a wikipedia/OSM contribution to use the maps in wikipedia!

Possible is this because of great efforts of other professionals. They created tools with/based on Open Source software (no/less costs) for everyone.

Actually in Bengaluru, India is a office of an international company, called Mapbox if you like to participate. I am not working their, but I really like the efforts they did in the last three years I know some people of them and if you like to know more informations about OSM and the possibilities, please contact me. Thanks Sean

A tag has been placed on File:Logo of PTV Global.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:26, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Do you have a source for this map you've made?[edit]

Where do you get the data for this map from? I'd just like to know where you can get daily updates on the COVID-19 Pandemic in Balochistan by each district.

@Abbasi786786 Yes. I've also mentioned External link on the map's description as well. If you click on that link [2], A map of Pakistan appears with various red dots. If you move mouse cursor on a particular dot, total number of cases appears with name of that particular district.

@Nomi887 Oh man, I must've missed that. Thank you for the timely response! By the way, going by that, I'll take this chance to tell you that you missed a few places. Musakhel District (the government tracker has its dot placed next to Mianwali for some reason) has three cases, and you also missed parts of Gwadar and Loralai Districts, bordering the Arabian Sea. Keep that in mind when you update the map.

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:30, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
