I would suggest that the section you removed from this article is completely relevant. Up until the mid-19th century, the history of rugby and soccer are identical in Scotland, and it was only later on that "football" came to refer to soccer alone.

It is unfair to claim that these games are merely the ancestors of soccer, when in fact their gameplay was often more similar to rugby, e.g. scrummaging, throwing the ball etc.--MacRusgail (talk) 20:36, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. It may be relevant but it was a direct lift of a substantial section from another article (hence the addition of the {{main}} template to direct readers to the original. Also you should be aware that without attribution, lifting text even from another Wikipedia article is a copyvio as GFDL requires attribution . This is usually achieved via a history merge as there should only really be one instance of the text on Wikipedia - again, hence the {{main}} template. If you want to incorporate a more extensive history in the Rugby article then the way to go about it is to try to write it in your own words, if it was me I'd write a short summary and leave the {{main}} template in place. Hope this helps, and I hope you noticed that I did decline the the speedy deletion request on the whole article so I'm not all bad am I? :) Kind regards and the very best of luck, nancy talk 07:53, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Been thinking about this some more and am wondering whether, as the pre 1867 history section is so substantial, perhaps there is a case for making it in to an article in its own right? Origins of football games in Scotland that's not quite the right title but you see where I'm going with this? Seems to me that this would solve a lot of problems particularly it would avoid duplication and would avoid the confusion of the rugby article sharing a section with the football one. What do you think? nancy talk08:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, there's a perception here that anything called "football" = "soccer". This is perpetuated in history books... Even the Scottish Rugby Union was originally the Scottish Football Union. The trouble with "Origins of football games in Scotland" is that it would confuse the soccer fans in Scotland who seem to think that it's a) the only sport ever been played here, and b) their sole property...

There is some material at ba game, but these are "fossil" games played in some parts of the country. --MacRusgail (talk) 13:15, 9 August 2008 (UTC) p.s. Thanks for saving the article, I didn't want to seem ungrateful.

Not notable?

I know I can write a better article but are you saying that as a stand alone figure Dr Nick Begich is not notable? Have I just not proven it to you or will I never be able to prove it to you in your eyes? Can you send me some of my deleted research back either way please. Thanks a lot. --StoneCutterGrandMaster (talk) 11:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. I have just revisted the deleted article to check I hadn't had a funny turn but I'm sorry, I still can't see even a assertion of notability - the only substantive content was a list of the achievements of variously his father, his brother and his mother. I am however happy to supply the deleted text and have moved it to User:StoneCutterGrandMaster/Sandbox for you but please, if you are intending to put it back in to mainspace make sure that it is a) actually about the subject rather than his family and that b) it meets the requirements in WP:BIO as otherwise I would fear for its longevity. Dear Nancy

Please could I ask for advice on whether it is better to rewrite the old copy or create a new page for BMJ Masterclasses?

Thanks Vicki —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vickin70 (talkcontribs) 15:03, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi there Vickin70, sorry for the delay in gettingn back to you. This may sound a bit harsh but may be you should first assess whether this topic is notable enough to have a page of its own at all? If you do decide to go for a dedicated article then there are a number of things to bear in mind - first and most obvious is that it must not simply read as an advertisement (the last one did, hence its quick removal). Secondly it must not be a copyright violation - I haven't checked but from the tone and layout of the original I would not be surprised if it was a copy and paste from another source. Finally you must show why this topic is notable, i.e. that it has been the subject of significant non-trivial coverage in reliable secondary sources - I did a quick search of news archives and it's not looking terribly hopeful. My frank opinion is that it is borderline whether this topic even merits a sentence in the BMJ article itself which incidentally doesn't even mention BMJ Learning at the moment. So maybe that's the answer - a sentence or two about BMJ Learning in the BMJ article mentioning that they run masterclasses? Good luck with whatever you decide, kind regards, nancy talk 09:08, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

deletion of Tomasso Squitti

Good day.

Just to clairfy.

The original deletion was based on not having a "spopource" for the listing. One was recently found.

As far as the individual having the same last name as myself, tht would be a 'red heerring'.

Thanks

--Caesar J. B. Squitti  : Son of Maryann Rosso and Arthur Natale Squitti 11:15, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello Caesar. The article was deleted because it was substantially the same as the one whch was deleted back in September 2007 as a result of hte deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Tommaso Squitti. You mention that a source had been added to the recreated article but the problem was that it didn't actually mention the subject and so might just as well not have been there. I note your red herring comment but as I have never mentioned or implied any connection between you and the subject I am wondering if it is not your statement that is the red herring!!!. Thanks for moving the KBKO-FM page to KVMX. I know Latics e-mailed you about KBKO (AM). Would you possibly be able to move KBKO (AM to KBKO also? KBKO (AM) is now the only station still using the KBKO call signs. All the info about KBKO (AM) Latics told you about in the previous message. We both kind of butchered the page. You know how to make the move correctly, since you're an administrator. If you could make that move for us, we'd both appriciate it. Sorry for butchering that page also. It's not something that I would necessarily encourage but this is a Wiki after all..... Copyright violation in Citroën C3 Pluriel

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Citroën C3 Pluriel, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Citroën C3 Pluriel is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Citroën C3 Pluriel, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 08:10, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Nancy, This is the agreement on the move for KBKO (AM) to KBKO. User:RobDe68 and I agree to keep it as an disambiguate page for some time until people get used to the new call sign for KBKO-FM). Then the proper thing to do is put the pointer on the original KBKO (AM) article and tag the KBKO page for speedy delete for page move. Now for the speedy delete for page move, how do you put that in? User:RobDe68 said he could handle putting it in as a speedy delete page move. I was thinking leaving KBKO as the disambiguate page, then maybe a month from now, if that's long enough for people to get use to it, would you make that move? Do you think a month is long enough for people to get use to knowing that KBKO-FM is now KVMX? Let me know. If so, then a month from now move KBKO (AM) to KBKO putting a pointer saying that KBKO-FM is now KVMX. That's the agreement. --JoeCool950 (talk) 06:06, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

That sounds like a sensible compromise . When the time comes you need to put the speedy tag {{db-move|KBKO (AM)|reason for move}} on KBKO - this will produce a template with a link for an admin to click on which will do the move for them. Cheers, nancy talk 06:54, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Where at on the KBKO page would I put the speedy tag {{db-move|KBKO (AM)|reason for move}}, so that I know, when the time comes? --JoeCool950 (talk) 05:26, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

I noticed, once again, well done. I just started really editing a week ago, so I’m only beginning to learn how to have specific links to the justify my changes/deletions. Also, I have too much of a POV concerning how this video is being presented, since I saw it live. The comments bore no relationship with what I actually saw. I could not believe what was being said about it so I didn’t dare change anything in the body. This NPOV stuff can be hard, but it’s mandatory. Jason3777 (talk) 21:19, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

My Malta cuisine text is fuller, with more historical references, more accurate, more descriptive than the one I keep replacing.

It describes Maltese cuisine as a distinctive cusine in its own right and unapologectically, not demeaning it by describing as a "mixture" of this and that - an ill informed though much repeated cliché that is not justified since ALL cuisines, not only Maltese cuisine, are influenced by territory, climate and history. This merely debases Maltese cuisine which IS disctinctive and has a much much longer repertoire of dishes than the list here.

I am also tired of seeing Maltese dishes described as the "Maltese version of...." especially when they patently aren't , e.g. Hobz biz- zejt / Bruschetta.

Catalans don't decscribe their tomato rubbed bread drizzled with oil as the Spanish version of Bruschetta or Pan Bagnat or Hobz bi zejt. Italians don't decsribe "Friggione" and "Cianfotta" as the "Italian version of ratatouille".

Please compare the current and previous entries for "Kapunata" and "Kusksu" . I tired to make my edit more precise, more informative?

By the way comparing Pastizzi to Indian Samosas leaves me speechless, they have absolutely nothing in common beyond being small pastry pockets.

While content like that below is supremely irrelevant to the topic of Maltese cuisine:

1 - This has also given rise to the expression "Kannol bla Krema" (a Kannol without cream, therefore and a hollow shell). This is used pejoratively of a person to indicate they are worthless, most specifically in politics with reference to campaign activists below the age of 18, therefore not eligible to vote under Maltese electoral law.

Incidentally someone has previously commented there should be more on the nature of Maltese cuisine - cooking styles and methods, typical ingredients etc - and no list of dishes, which belongs more correctly in the Wiki Cook book / Recipe book. So I may well add the intro on the characteristics of Maltese cuisine shortly!

Finally I see no need for produce and dishes to be repeatedly and tiresomely preceded by the adjective "Maltese" as in "Maltese swordfish", "Maltese Bean Dip" " Maltese Baked Roie" "Maltese Easter Sweet" " Maltese Fish Soup" - that they are Maltese is obvious as they are on this page. The adjective is only necessary for the few very items where not using the term is insuffiuciently specific : Maltese Sausage, Maltese Bread

Thank You

What is POV?

What is OR?

Maramaltija (talk) 06:45, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Good morning Maramaltija.
POV is Wikipedia shorthand for point of view. As an encyclopaedia Wikipedia strives for a neutral point of view. OR is also Wikipedia shorthand and stands for original research something which Wikipedia does not allow - i.e. editors can only state conclusions which have been made in published works, they cannot synthesise these works and draw their own. Your contributions are characterised by both, as they represent your own personal viewpoint which has not been corroborated by reference to independent reliable sources. They also represent wholesale changes to an established article without forming any consensus for the change.
I understand that you have come to my talk page because I am one of the editors who has been cleaning up the article, and it is fine that you did so, but the proper place for any discussion about such a dramatic change in content, tone and emphasis is on the talk page of the article itself, and, only when consensus has been reached that the changes are appropriate should they be made. Hope this helps to explain - I know that Wikipedia's policies and guidelines can be a bit bewildering at first. Kind regards, nancy talk 07:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

How about this?

Seeking your view Nancy, before I re-edit:

So, current version:

Maltese cuisine is the result of a long relationship between the Islanders and the many foreigners who made Malta their home over the centuries.

1 - who made Malta their home... - this is a euphemism , a sugared way of saying the foreigners who colonised / ruled / governed Malta . I'm afraid to say they "made Malta their home" is historically inaccurate, misleading

Maltese cuisine is an eclectic mix of Italian/Sicilian with various other Mediterranean elements. 2 This is vague , see bold above. Also it is not true , it is a misconception that Maltese cuisine is a rehash of " Italian" - as if there was any such thing as single Italian cuisine in any case!

So if I remove the subjective elements, what do you think of this intro?

Maltese cuisine is typically Southern Mediterranean and based on fresh seasonal locally available produce and sea food. There are many unique and distinctive local dishes and the cuisine also embodies the gastronomic legacies of Malta's past, showing Arab, Spanish and Sicilian influences as well as influences from the more recent British colonial presence.

Let me know if you think I can go ahead, and if so how to describe this edit if you approve it,

Thanks!Maramaltija (talk) 08:35, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, great, I think you've got it! All you need to do now is make sure that it is 'wikified' - i.e has the right text formatting and internal links - you might find it easier to cut and paste the formatted section below.
Maltese cuisine is typically Southern Mediterranean and based on fresh seasonal locally available produce and seafood. There are many unique and distinctive local dishes and the cuisine also embodies the gastronomic legacies of Malta's past, showing Arab, Spanish and Sicilian influences as well as influences from the more recent British colonial presence.
With regard to the edit summary, just try and make is as descriptive as possible so that people scanning recent changes or looking at a page history can know what you did and why you did it without having to look at the detail of each difference. In this case you might write something as simple as "Rewrote lead to address concerns" (Lead being what we call the first, or lead, paragraph in an article). If you click on "my preferences" at the top of any page and go to the edit tab you will find an option to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" - it is always wise to switch this on as otherwise it is very easy to forget to leave one. Kind regards, nancy talk 09:29, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Help please!!

There is a back and forth undoing going on. I am convinced my version is more factually correct and useful and have tried to Talk to user 89.243.203.252

See my talk page for my reply.

From him or her I have had these "messages" written in place of edit summaries

1 - "undo. there is complete consensus against you and your sockpuppet"
2 - "Undo changes. If you disagree with this, then take it to the talk and explain your reasoning. The article is of better quality like this."
3 - "Please stop your changes, or you will be reported for violating 3RR, edit warring, and POV pushing"

How does this kind of thing get resolved?

Thanks! Maramaltija (talk) 21:35, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello Nancy. Having popped in on the article from time to time, I am almost sure this is a sockpuppet of another user from before, but until further proof comes up, I shall not RFCU, and shall AGF. However, the user is disrupting the page, turning cuisinary links into geo-political ones, when they are supposed to be representing cuisinary ideas. The user is on the verge of violating 3RR, and has been warned by way of edit summary - thus meaning his next revert will in effect render him in breach of the policy, and therefore temp-blocked. Can you please help deal with the user. Cheers 89.243.203.252 (talk) 21:43, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

MALTESE CUISINE LEAD

Many thanks Nancy! I did try to copy and paste but the Links did not come through. So I laboriously studied the formatting and experimented until I kind of worked out what to do, but I am sure there must be a more efficient short cut. I put in historical rather than geographical links as more appropriate to the context. Incidentally is the this the right way for me to talk with you? I am just beginning and I am grateful for your helping to me to learn! Maramaltija (talk) 15:06, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Maramaltija, I should have been clearer - you needed to copy and paste from the edit screen, then all the mark up would have gone across (I'm not a very good teacher - I always forget the most important detail!). As you know I have been away from Wikipedia for a few days but I can see that you are slowly working out your differences with 87.19.241.223 in the right way - i.e. by "talking". You ask about the best way to communicate - in general if you are talking to another editor then use their own user talk page and if you are dicussing an article use the article talk page so that other interested parties can see the discussion and chip in. When people first come to Wikipedia all they see is the articles and it takes a while to realise that there is a huge collaboration going on on the talk pages behind the scenes but you're doing just fine. Hello there. I prodded the article in question earlier this month and you deleted it. This past week, I found it had been recreated, so I prodded it again. Author removed the prod, so I've taken it to AfD. Just thought you might want to know. Thanks, Cliff smith talk 19:53, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

TROY M RODRIGUEZ

Hello, I noticed you were the admin who speedily deleted TROY M RODRIGUEZ today. I'm late to the game and didn't see the person who created the article, but I would suggest that they be blocked as a sockpuppet, if they haven't been already. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Troyrodriguez361. He did a ton of vandalism recently and I'm keeping an eye out for permutations of the pages he liked to create. justinfr (talk) 04:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Looks like the same guy - someone else has indef blocked the lastest account as a sock whilst I was still asleep. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep an eye out for him in the future. Cheers, nancy (talk) 05:24, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Thames WikiProject

I am confused. The addition of the Thames WikiProject banner at River Thames whale was not displaying correctly. {{WikiProjectBannerShell}} has the following documentation for its parameter list.

{{WikiProjectBannerShell|1=
{{FirstProjectBanner|nested=yes|...}}
{{SecondProjectBanner|nested=yes|...}}
{{ThirdProjectBanner|nested=yes|...}}
...
}}

I changed the bannershell to match the above, discovering that the Thames banner had to be in second place. If it was last, it displayed outside the shell. I checked some others you had updated, they appeared to be working although they did not match the parameter specification. I am not sure what to do now, so I thought I would pass this anomaly on, and go back to bed. MortimerCat (talk) 11:18, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

You're right, the numbering doesn't seem to make any difference! I thought it affected the grouping (i.e. the weight of the dividing lines) but I just tested & it doesn't. Anyway thanks for the catch - I'll run back through the others and check that I haven't broken any other formatting. Sleep well. nancy (talk) 11:29, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

A Helping Hand

Hi nancy! Wonderful work you have done over the time of being an admin. It seems JohnDSouth was blanking your page so I took care of it. You may want to block that account! Cheers UncleBilly77 (talk) 02:38, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for changing the name of my new article to Relief of Ladysmith. It was the name used by historians, but was unavailable to me when I tried to create it. Thanks for freeing up the name. Djmaschek (talk) 01:52, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hello! I just wanted to pass along my thanks for your support in my RfA from earlier this week. I hope I did not disappoint you. I am going on Wikibreak and I will let you know when or if I am back on the site -- I am trying to take time away to clear my thoughts and refocus on this and other priorities. Be well. Nevermind, Nancy. Lorries and owt was blocked by Black Kite. Indefinitely, too. So, we won't be seeing anymore vandalism from that user. Colin Jacobsen (talk) 15:11, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, Nancy. I deleted this section since Black Kite blocked the socks and you didn't seem to be around, but Swamilive restored it. It's probably less confusing for you to just leave it now. (This relates to Stan Jacobsen if that wasn't clear.) Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:18, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure Nancy doesn't really mind, DelCarb. It's no big deal. Colin Jacobsen (talk) 15:20, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Page Deletion

Hi Nancy, I know you did not delete my page, but I figured since you were on the list of administrators that would help with deleted pages and your name is Nancy, I should contact you first. My page was titled Nancy Chandler Associates and was deleted yesterday. I was wondering if you could help with restoration efforts or send me a copy of the page to my email, [email protected]. Sarah Lovejoy page

Hi Nancy

Sarah Lovejoy is one of several important artists living on the Midlands Meander craft route in South Africa.

Be gentle this is my first article of several containing information about these artists.

I'm really not sure how notable you have to be to appear here, but in South Africa they are all a big deal!!!

Cheers

Twinstar2 (talk) 16:04, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi there Twinstar. You mention that you are not sure how notable someone needs to be in order to have a Wikipedia article which is why I think that before you make any other pages you should check out our notability guidelines for biographies and in particular the specific section on creative professionals as otherwise I fear that you may suffer further deletions which is not a nice thing to go through, especially for someone who has obviously come here with the best of intentions. Best of luck, kind regards, Nancy talk 16:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Gentle Giant Moving Co. Wiki

Hi Nancy, you deleted my page as it was flagged by the coren search bot for copyright infringement. After reading your page, I have a better understanding for what is and is not acceptable for wiki pages. If you would be so kinda as to un-delete the page, I will go through an totally overhaul the page, adding pertinant references Gentle Giant in the media, taking out language that makes it sounds like spam, as well as totally re-write any language taken from my company's website. As a Gentle Giant employee who works along side the creators and maintainers of the website, is there anyway to use that info if given permission? (http://www.winningworkplaces.org/topsmallbiz/2007winners/tsw2007_gentlegiant.php Here) is some proof of Gentle Giant's notability: We were a 2007 Winner of the Wall Street Journal's "Winning Workplaces: Top Small Workplaces". Hopefully that is enough to prove our legitamacy. I hope you will un-delete the Gentle Giant Moving Company page I was working on. Thanks WillAllenatGG (talk) 16:28, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Firstly thank you for reading my "why?" page and I'm really glad that it helped to explain a little of how this great place operates. I am afraid that I am going to have to decline your request for a copy of the deleted article because of the copyright violation issues - even if I copied it in to your userpage we would still be the wrong side of our own policies and wider copyright laws. There are ways of releasing the text of the website to GFDL (the copyleft license which Wikipedia uses) and they are explained on the copyright page linked above but to be honest it is probably not worth the hassle as the text on the website is written in a very promotional way (understandably!) and is not therefore not appropriate in tone for an encyclopaedic article and would likely get deleted as advertising. You also need to make sure that GG meets the notability requirements for inclusion - a skim through WP:ORG would be a good use of a few minutes. Finally, there is the issue of your conflict of interest - whilst it is not specifically disallowed, people editing articles about themselves or companies they work for is generally frowned upon as we recognise that closeness to a subject may make it very difficult to be neutral - a good rule of thumb is that if a subject is notable enough for inclusion then likely an uninvolved editor will be along soon enough to create a page. Hope this helps & good luck in whatever you decide. Kind regards, Nancy talk 16:36, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

A-League referees

I understand why you would speedily delete Chris Beath but there are identical articles Strebre Delovski, James Lewis (referee), Steven Gregory, Craig Zetter and Kevin Docherty which have existed for quite some time. Surely all the pages fail the same notability? You've probably come across Chris Beath randomly and not noticed that other articles existed, so can you please look at them as well. --Squilibob (talk) 12:19, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Squilibob, hello. As an admin one of the tasks I do here is to review articles which other editors have submitted from deletion - Chris Beath was on the list but the others you mention were not so you are right, I haven't looked at them but equally would have had no reason to. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking me to do here as it sounds like you are suggesting that the other articles should also be deleted? If this is correct then the way to go about it would be to tag them with the appropriate deletion request tag - if you feel they meet the speedy deletion criteria then {{db-bio}} would be appropriate or otherwise you could use proposed deletion or articles for deletion. Kind regards, Nancy talk 08:27, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Matt Hazard page

lol. You don't use google much, do you? I was trying to incite attention so that someone with more time would make an article about, y'know, something big and important that just hit the internet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blinkstale (talkcontribs) 20:37, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, a page, the sole content of which is "The most bad dude ever." is not ever going anywhere except the digital dustbin. Nancy talk 20:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
What were you saying? Matt Hazard looks alive and well in terms of the being built process if you would give it some time. I would appreciate it if you didn't delete pages people were building within minutes of them being created when they explicitly state the above.--Blinkstale (talk) 20:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Marcio Stival's page.

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that Márcio Stival is a internet personality who is fairly famous in Brazil. Stival drew nationwide audiences when he admitted taht he had AIDS in a fairly unusual way. Stival has even appeared in talk shows. I, as for myself, do not have much information, except the trivial stuff, on Stival myself, but since there was no article referring to Stival I thought it would be best to start one, and later other users ( or myself ) may add more information.

I understand you had no way of knowing all that and I understand that you were doing your job. (...) —Preceding unsigned comment added by .ffarmer90 (talkcontribs) 21:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank-you for your diff (no deletion) on Jean-Marc Ferry, José Fontaine (talk) 20:57, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

No problem - contrary to what a casual reader of this page might infer I do actually decline a lot of deletion requests when there is reason to do so. Best of luck with the article - he looks like an interesting (and notable) guy. Nancy talk 21:02, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Craftsmen Deletion

Nancy,

We will rework the article. I didn't give my team enough time to research what you require for us to be in Wikipedia. The truth is I should have looked into myself before we submitted. We'll re do it and get it to meet the Wikipedia standards.

Marcio Stival again

Pleas i would like an explanation for Marcio Stival's article.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by .ffarmer90 (talkcontribs) 04:34, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello .ffarmer90, the article was deleted because it does not show why Marcio is notable in the context of Wikipedia. If you have not already I strongly suggest that you have a good read of the notability guidelines for biographies and, if you are sure that you can demonstrate within an article how Marcio meets these guidelines then you might want to try again. The most important thing for you to do is to make sure that you have plenty of reliable, secondary sources backing up the statements in the article. Very best of luck, Nancy talk 08:19, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting those two foreign-language redirects. Just to let you know, the IP (User talk:70.51.8.75|70.51.8.75]] user who originally requested that those pages be created has been somewhat persistent and will probably try to have them created again; if they are, should I just put the same speedy tag on them? —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:37, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

No problem. Yes, same tags. If they persist we'll protect the titles so that they can't be recreated. Nancy talk 13:41, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't see how I could qualify as "somewhat persistant" since I only requested it once, and noted it on the related talk page. 70.51.8.75 (talk) 05:32, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
