GA notification

I am trying to make the United States governmental offices navboxes diffrentiatable from the other navboxes. In order to try and get consensus for these new navboxes, I am comming to the ones that were critical of my previous attemps before. I am doing this on my sandbox, which is located at User:USAAuthority/Sandbox1. I would love it if you give me your imput on their or go to Wikipedia:USA to comment on their talk page. I am trying to do these like the Canadian ones. I would love for you to go to the sandbox and put your edits in, and achieve consensus for a new navbox standard for these. The Fort Worth Cats are a minor league team, use of the major league baseball infobox is inappropriate, anyway, but there is no evidence in the article that he has signed with anybody, let alone Fort Worth. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 18:40, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Aaron Crow has a bio on the Fort Worth Cats website, which is in the External links section, which states that he pitches for them, and the baseball stat sites are accumulating those stats as well. Though he's not a major leaguer, as he plays for the Cats, he is now a professional ball player, and I've seen the infobox used for minor leaguers (and some college players as well). Proposed deletion of 2010 Major League Baseball Draft
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

- Granted the draft will happen, but isn't any speculation of who will be drafted total crystal ballerly at this point? Is there anything factual about this draft that is known today that is worth talking about? Go ahead and pull the PROD, and I won't fight it, but I still think it's early.
- I'll agree it's early to know who will be drafted where, but the players listed are being called among the top eligible prospects by people who are {supposedly) in the know. Granted things can change between now and then. A similar list existed for the 2009 draft. Hello Muboshgu. I see that you restored the bar fight incident to this article, after I closed the 3RR report which you filed. I assume you *did* read my warning that anyone who reverted this section again without getting a talk page consensus first might be sanctioned? Please cite your consensus. It is important to actually examine available sources before nominating for deletion to see if an article can meet the general notability guidelines and has the potential for improvement. - We need to see it in print from a reliable source. A radio station may be reporting a rumor or an unconfirmed deal. I do believe that this deal is real and will go through shortly, but we need to wait for the official approval of MLB. --Muboshgu (talk) 01:47, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

How many sites that say 'done deal', including the Phillies and Indians sites do you want to see? EVERY trade is not final until physicals. The trade is done. The trade is final. It has passed the Commissioner's office. If someone fails the physical the trade is canceled. It is not dependent on the physical. The trade is complete. If the physical is failed, then the trade is nullified, but the trade did happen. Sorry to burst your bubble. -- Me, now.
- If a player fails a physical, it nullifies the trade, meaning the players don't change teams. Therefore, if Carlos Carrasco fails his physical, Cliff Lee remains an Indian; the deal doesn't go through. - The difference there is that it's clear that the Nationals control Strasburg's rights while he's unsigned, for the short-term, while Lee was still an Indian while the paperwork was going through. But I do agree that Strasburg's infobox shouldn't list him as a National while he's unsigned. I tried arguing that but I think I lost. - Whomever you lost that argument with didn't argue the facts. If Strasburg is unsigned, then he is unsigned. There is no counter argument to that. Unfortunately, with the 2009 MLB draft, a lot of Wikipedia editors got excited about creating new articles, and the error with Strasburg is fairly common. There are currently articles for players I believe are likely to either not sign or will sign in another sport.--Johnny Spasm (talk) 19:01, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Sports TFDs
I imagine an effort to pare down sports templates is an extensive one. However, if you want to be consistent about redundant templates, in addition to athletic team and coaches templates, templates such as retired numbers templates should be removed. You may want to consider nominating templates such as Template:Wolverines Football Retired Numbers, which I modeled off of another similar template. - Please see Wikipedia:Trivia and Wikipedia:Relevance of content. Do we really need to know that he likes soccer, lasagna, and Caddyshack? No, we need to know about his pitching. - It wasn't a "list" and it was in it's own section. I don't fault your reasoning, technically you're right but going out of your way to do it is a bit odd. - Info about family and residence is acceptable, to some extent at least. To me, the detail about Pujols' 100 on the citizenship test is pushing it; merely saying he passed and citing should be sufficient. I'm thinking about whether or not I want to trim that. As for Schilling, I removed the bits about his superstitions (unsourced and the same as every other player) and his WWII interests (unsourced and irrelevant). I try to be consistent with all articles, and so do the other editors at WP:BASEBALL, but we're far from perfect. --Muboshgu (talk) 16:30, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Shilling's superstitions are apart of him as a baseball player though. I can understand if you were to take out things he likes (movies, food, t.v. show ect.) but something about his style of baseball is relevant. - In my opinion, it's not notable to him, though. It's notable to baseball players as a whole. If there was some specific superstition that went above and beyond the typical "don't step on the chalk" type superstitions, I'd agree with you. - Yeah, I guess I can see what you mean. It's still not the most irrelevant thing and by said criteria. It was along the likes of "baseball" and not something out there, something like "and [he] wears a Christian cross necklace" on the subject about him being a Christian is. I can see taking that out because who cares if he wares one, he probably wares t-shirts and jeans but they didn't mention that. Texas Gubernatorial Election 2010
I'm hoping that my edit has addressed some of your concerns. What I did was move all officially announced candidates into one section (with three subsections for political party affiliation) and left all the others in another one (since I don't have any way to know if someone has dropped out, I'll leave that edit for someone else). Speedy deletion nomination of Commissioner's Historic Achievement Award
A tag has been placed on Commissioner's Historic Achievement Award requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement.
