Canadian Screen Awards[edit]

Just a quick request for you...I do very much appreciate the help filling in categories at 10th Canadian Screen Awards; it's a long and exhausting job that I can only take in small chunks before I have to go do something else just to unwind my brain, so it's much appreciated that I'm not the only person tackling it all. But when you do help to fill in some categories, could you please take the extra step of double-checking the links to ensure that they're actually linking to the correct topic? (It's especially important when you're getting down to stuff like sound or visual effects engineers in television, because those are people who are not nearly as likely to already have Wikipedia articles at all as the actors are, but you should still always double-check every blue link anyway just to be safe.) It's just that I had to go through all the categories that you added, and either add a disambiguator to the link, or unlink the name entirely, because it was going to the wrong article for several of the names you added. (For example, if you look at Dane Kelly, you'll see that it's actually about a Jamaican football player rather than a Canadian sound engineer.)

So what you need to do is, instead of clicking on "publish changes" right away, first click on the "show preview" button next to that — and for each blue link in the categories you added, right click on the link and then "open in new tab" so that you can check the article to make sure that it's actually about the intended topic. If it's a film title, make sure that the article is actually about a Canadian film; if it's a sound engineer, make sure that the article is actually about a sound engineer; and on and so forth — if it's not, then either figure out how the name needs to be disambiguated, or just unlink it and let somebody else worry about adding disambiguated links later, and then publish the changes only when you're sure that every new link you've added is actually clean. I know it's kind of a pain in the butt, and it's exactly the reason why I can only get through about eight to ten categories at a time before I have to go for a walk to unfry my brain, but it's critically important that the article doesn't link to completely incorrect topics, so it really has to be done.

Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 04:14, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited PAW Patrol, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stadia. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Episode list date formats[edit]

When adding dates to Episode lists (such as [1]), please make sure that |OriginalAirDate= uses the {{Start date|YYYY|MM|DD}} format. Otherwise, it ends up in Category:Episode lists with unformatted air dates for someone to come in and fix. It's easier all around just to format it correctly to begin with. See the docs here Template:Episode list#Parameters. TIA. ButlerBlog (talk) 18:53, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Movie Actor, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please provide summaries for your edits[edit]

Hey there! I’ve noticed that the majority of your edits do not contain an edit summary. Per H:FIES, you are required to provide one for all of your edits, even if they’re marked as minor. As such, please avoid leaving your edit summaries blank in the future - even a brief indication is better than none, and it’ll go a long way towards preventing unwanted reverts or potential conflicts with other editors. Thanks, ‍ Masterofthebrick ‍ talk 06:07, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
