Your goal

I have reverted your change to Chiang Kai-shek. This is an article about a Chinese person, so not surprisingly it contains Chinese text. That is noted much farther down in the article at Chiang Kai-shek#See_also. If you wanted to move that notice closer to the top of the article that might be a possibility, but I don't know if it should be before the infobox, as you had the Japanese text mention.

If you are serious about adding the "which language" notes, you should be sure, umm, which language. I'm trying to find a good place to start learning. Wow, there are a lot. One article is List_of_languages_by_writing_system, but that just lists them and doesn't show them to you. Writing system talks about systems, but doesn't show them to you. And List of writing systems is another overview.

There are three major Asian writing systems that look somewhat alike: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. But even saying that, there are *two* Chinese character sets (traditional and simplified), *three* Japanese character sets (Kanji, Hiragana and katakana), and Korean now uses Hangul but used to also use Chinese characters.

And then there are the character sets of southeast Asia and south Asia. Several of the south Asian systems look very much alike. (I don't even try to guess there)

Anyway, you have to look at lot of these character sets before you can be sure what something really is. Shenme (talk) 03:55, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

?? I'm not sure what you mean? If you mean that same Chiang Kai-shek article, there are plenty of Chinese characters there, like

Chiang Kai-shek (traditional Chinese: 蔣介石 / 蔣中正; simplified Chinese: 蒋介石 / 蒋中正;

I think the idea of making the notice is so a person knows what is happening, if they see a bunch of question marks or those block marks when a web browser doesn't know what to do with characters it doesn't recognize, like these five: ˟˪ͽϿᒈ ( <-- those don't display on my browser)

Did you find a place that seemed to have a notice like this, where you didn't see any Asian characters? Shenme (talk) 01:44, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Revision to Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri articles

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.
