Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, MishaKeats, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, especially what you did for Talk:Barack Obama. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! JayJasper (talk) 21:26, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jasper. I realize that this is probably the standard welcome note, but I'll pretend that this is a personalized one instead and basks in the warmth of the welcome you offered. Thanks MishaKeats (talk) 18:13, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fear Mongering[edit]

MishaKeats, I see you just created you Wikipedia account on 18 August 2011. I hope you did not create your account just to try and use unreliable sources on the Comet Elenin page. Given the fear mongering about this comet on the internet, I have to admit that I wonder about the timing of the creation of your account. If you have questions about Comet Elenin you are more than welcome to ask them on the "Comet Elenin - Official Facebook Page" were I am an admin. -- 13:38, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I find your comment deeply offensive. Instead of comig here questioning my character, why don't you respond to my questions on the page? You have already noted down your Facebook link in the Elenin page and your status as admin. Please apologize.Misha Atreides (talk)

Sorry you feel that way. But the woo-woos come in many forms. All I said is that I found it interesting that you just joined Wikipedia and that you want to promote Elenin is if it is completely separate from the cultural history of Nibiru. -- Kheider (talk) 15:30, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kheider, since my very first post, I have made my intent clear. There should be mention of the conspiracy theory angle on the Elenin article, because it is huge. That is all. I have no interest in pushing any one of the Nibiru/Mayan/earthquake/alignment/solar flares angles or any links, for that matter. All my subsequent posts are responses, fulfilling a number of requests, questions and requirements. And for the record, we both know what you implied up there. I am disappointed to see you avoiding an apology. Misha Atreides (talk) 15:40, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for upsetting you. But most unestablished Wikipedia editors come to the Comet Elenin page to push an agenda. -- Kheider (talk) 15:53, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you sir. I assure you, my only agenda is to one day write a page on something I love. For now, just random edits and talks. Cheers Misha Atreides (talk) 15:59, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A cookie for you![edit]

Greetings! Before we get back to our discussion at Talk:C/2010 X1, I thought we might share a snack (though electronic foods are not very filling). Again, welcome! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get started here. VQuakr (talk) 16:35, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yummy. Thank you sir. I will be back later. Need to finish some work first. Misha Atreides (talk) 16:43, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your HighBeam account is ready![edit]

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
  • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:52, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Ocassi. Watch me go! Misha Atreides (talk) 15:34, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:10, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Stories Project[edit]

Hi!

My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share. I found your username from the Highbeam application list.

I'd very much like the opportunity to interview you to tell your story, with the possibility of using it in our materials, on our community websites, or as part of this year’s fundraiser to encourage others to support Wikipedia. Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know anyone with whom I should speak.

Thank you for your time,

Victor Grigas

Your attention needed at WP:CHU[edit]

Hello. A bureaucrat or clerk has responded to your username change request, but requires clarification before moving forward. Please follow up at your username change request entry as soon as possible. Thank you. Hopefully I have clarified the issue for you there. Noom talk stalk 15:01, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MishaKeats, the request you filed at WP:CHU/Simple does not belong there because it is not a simple request. If you do own the SUL for MishaAtreides, then a Bureaucrat may perform the rename after filing a request at WP:CHU/Usurpations, but request probably won't be fulfilled if the SUL is not owned by you. Make sure to read the instructions and help pages at WP:CHU/U, especially the page about SUL conflicts. meta:Help:Unified login provides more information about SUL accounts, this is your SUL account information, and this is the target SUL account information. Noom talk stalk 17:04, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Misha, just following up quickly on your rename request, which was completed by a Bureaucrat earlier. You should now be able to merge your local user here with the SUL via Special:MergeAccount. Noom talk stalk 17:13, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Nooms. Thank you for the heads up. Forgive my denseness, but I still see my previous username in the other Wikis(?) --MishaKeats (talk) 18:02, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't merged your local enwiki account with your global account yet [1]. After this, you may have to logout at the other wikis, login as MishaAtreides there and merge again. Since you renamed in order to merge into a SUL, I'm not sure if there's anything else you need to do. If you're still having problems after, I'll seek someone who has a little more experience to come and give you a hand :). Noom talk stalk 20:39, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I realise now, you're still logged into MishaKeats. Log out and then back into MishaAtreides, remember to merge and you should be good to go. Noom talk stalk 20:44, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to the entire discussion or a specific comment? SwisterTwister talk 17:48, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think in its entirety would be much better. Thanks --MishaKeats (talk) 17:54, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see nothing "out of line" from your messages. Honestly, the matter with heights can be uncertain at times including height with shoes or not or as the IP mentioned, height may be rounded. Additionally, people may lean towards one side while their height (and irrelevantly weight as well) is being measured. Thus, height isn't essential to biographies with the exception of athletes. If I were you, I would let it go and perhaps focus with other areas. SwisterTwister talk 21:22, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, David. I appreciate the effort. If you need me to work on any articles, please let me know. Currently, I just work on anything that catches my fancy - if any. Cheers bro. --Misha Atreides (talk) 21:33, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Credo Reference[edit]

I'm sorry to report that there were not enough accounts available for you to have one. I have you on our list though and if more become available we will notify you promptly.

We're continually working to bring resources like Credo to Wikipedia editors, and this will very hopefully not be your last opportunity to sign up for one. If you haven't already, please check out WP:HighBeam and WP:Questia, where accounts are still available. Cheers, Ocaasi 19:14, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service[edit]

Hi MishaAtreides! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over three years.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in three years or more.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|{{subst:currentuser}}|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name on the FRS page, you may be receiving this message. If so, make sure your new account name is on the FRS list instead.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:26, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
