Are you related to User:Makemi (who we miss around here)? --ColonelHenry (talk) 20:41, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Been working on an article for Kilmer's "Trees. Was wondering if you had any pictures for the article of the old house in Mahwah? or the Kilmer Oak in New Brunswick? or the handwritten copy (or from the infamous notebooks) that the Kilmer birthplace in New Brunswick shows?--ColonelHenry (talk) 14:43, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit clueless here (Talk Page) and probably doing it wrong. I have taken pictures of the Mahwah house, but it was a while ago. I am currently organizing and examining all of my photographic prints, so I might very well come across those photographs in the next few days. I'll keep an eye out and let you know. I don't remember photographing the kilmer Oak in New Brunswick, but I'll look for that also. I know there was a print somewhere around from a News Service, so I'll look for that also. I think I have a few scanned images from the infamous notebook (thanks for the hearty laugh). I'll look for those tomorrow or Monday. Miriamkilmer (talk) 23:46, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm finding that I did scan some pages of the notebook, but not "Trees." The notebook is tightly bound, and I didn't want to damage it. My plan was to scan it with Georgetown's then-new scanner that didn't require making the book lie flat. However, it wasn't yet operational, and the project went by the wayside. If you want a different poem, I can give it to you; otherwise we'll have to plead with Georgetown. Miriamkilmer (talk) 14:24, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to go straight to a nomination for "Featured article status" with my work on this article, thinking the article had sufficient substance to be considered there. To be a featured article (a rarity on Wikipedia), an article must abide by the featured article criteria which can be found here WP:WIAFA. If you'd like to take a look at my nomination and offer your suggestions and comments, the nomination and review is here: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Trees (poem)/archive1 Thanks. --ColonelHenry (talk) 18:01, 21 July 2013 (UTC) My only objection is to the assertion that "the notebook" was discovered in 2013. It's like saying that the "New World" was discovered in 1492. There were plenty of people who knew it was there long before that. Alex' temporary difficulty in locating it probably had to do with the ignorance of the staff who was trying to help him. I've been assured that it was never "lost."Miriamkilmer (talk) 16:14, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
