Vandalism?

You "reverted" a change I made to an article about a norwegian musician (Susanne Sundfør), calling it vandalism. I fail to see how my change was vandalism, as I only added her most recent album to her discography. And I also see that the page is as I left it 88.89.5.109 (talk) 22:36, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi what is wrong with my external link to the interview with the Richard O'shea. You Tube links are not forbidden WP:YOUTUBE. The interview was posted to you tube by the (c) holder. The interview is extremely relevant and is not spam.--92.251.255.15 (talk) 13:00, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

I see it was reverted by XLinkBot because You-tube links are added on its blacklist, but then you undid this revision. Next time you try and undo an edit which leads to the appropriate link, could you remember explaining it in the edit summary? A lot of You tube links are forbidden but if you think this link is OK you could try reporting it here. Thanks. Minimac94 (talk) 13:10, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi, Minimac94, I am not going to list the link on User_talk:XLinkBot/RevertList because of point 3 on that page 3 Make the entry at the bottom of the list (before the last line). Please do not do this unless you are familiar with regex — the disruption that can be caused is substantial. I am not familiar with regex- sorry. But I definitely believe the link is fine--92.251.255.15 (talk) 13:19, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Rollback

As you have agreed that you will not ever use Huggle [1] I have granted you access to rollback again. Please remember that it is only to be used to revert blatant vandalism and it goes without saying that any misuse of rollback will result in it being removed permanently. This also applies if you install/use Huggle again. Good luck & be careful - remember, "if in doubt, don't do it!" Best, Nancy talk 15:10, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

FASTQ_format article

The diagram I added is quite helpful if you've ever had to determine a file's encoding by looking at the quality scores alone. I have distributed this chart among colleagues and thought Wikipedia would be a good place to share this. I'm surprised you reverted this. Can you explain why you did this? Jeberle (talk) 09:06, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmm... I don't remember reverting that at all... Thanks for reminding me anyway. I undid my revision for you. It was tagged as nonsense characters on the article's history, and I reverted it because it looked like intentional vandalism. Next time you make an edit similar to this could you explain it in the edit summary? That way it gets everyone (including me) to understand what the edit is about. The Block on Gantlet

I've realised you've blocked Gantlet for two weeks for edit warring (I think). Is it possible to extend the block because Gantlet has abused multiple accounts. His sock, User:Trock95 was blocked indefinitely. Minimac94 (talk) 19:55, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

I am well aware of the sock; I'm the one who blocked it. I'm sticking with two weeks. -- tariqabjotu 20:25, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Re. RfA

You've stated that you would like to know why my first wikibreak came about. Is a private email okay? Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 10:24, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh, no, I meant through Special:EmailUser/Minimac94, which uses a private email address that you used to set up the wikipedia account. In any case, I'll do that now. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 10:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Unless you'd prefer I'd just use the email you've given out right now, you'd have to enable email in Your Preferences. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 10:32, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I was a little concerned about giving away my e-mail address, but I removed it now, since you found a better way to do it, I'll take a look at My Preferences to see what my settings are at the moment. Minimac94 (talk) 10:34, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
An email detailing my wikibreaks has been sent to the email you indicate above. Hope this helps, Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 10:37, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

9th QRL

Hi, can you explain to me why the Sharnbrook ACF website should be regarded as a reliable source, it is effectively self-published and gives no indication where it obtained its information from. David Underdown (talk) 19:32, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Because it was the only source I could find on the Internet. Apologies if I got the source wrong. I think we should delete that quote as there is no significant source added to it. I do try my best to add {{vc}} to any reference I make in which the reliability would be in question. Minimac94 (talk) 20:22, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
9th Queen's Royal Lancers. The quote probably doesn't need to be deleted yet, the regimental history may well confirm it, or other published histories of the Boer War - sources don't have to be online. David Underdown (talk) 21:19, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to weigh in on my RfA. It was successful, in that the community's wish not to grant me the tools at this time was honored. Yeah sorry, didn't even notice I changed it back. Regards!

The article Herb Heiman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Self-published author, no reliable sources to even come close to meeting notability guidelines for authors.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. tedder (talk) 03:41, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Why did you remove several category tags about JACK audio support?

Hi Minimac! I saw you have removed several tags for Category:Audio software with JACK support. I'm not quite sure I understand why. There is an ongoing discussion about the deletion of that category (to which I object), but why are cat tags being deleted before there is consensus? Best regards, --Nettings (talk) 23:37, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

It was because on some articles I couldn't see any part of the article which had the word "JACK" in them, so I assumed it wasn't part of the category "Audio programs with JACK support". But if you think the article does have JACK support undo my removal of categories, but also please add them in the article somewhere so that I understand this category. I see you are an audio engineer, so my apologies for removing your categories without permission. Minimac (talk) 05:49, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Ah, ok. I can assure you those applications do indeed support JACK. The category was created to avoid a long and unwieldy list of supporting applications on the JACK page. I'm going to wait how the deletion discussion turns out, and if people decide to keep the category, I'll restore those tags, if you don't mind.--Nettings (talk) 10:07, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

I have added some sources in the article Duke of la Torre. Are they enough for removing the unreferenced template? Thank you --Paliano (talk) 20:48, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, although I might have to change the template to the {{nofootnotes}} because it doesn't have any inline citations (i.e. sources from newspapers or anything else published). If you can find any news related sources, this article wouldn't be a concern. You could try Google News or any other news related browser to help you on this. Minimac (talk) 20:57, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Removed PROD on List of terrorist incidents in the Republic of Ireland

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from List of terrorist incidents in the Republic of Ireland, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks!

CrossFit

Hi Minimac,

As you have no doubt discovered, I've been working hard to clean up CrossFit. I am completely neutral on this topic and just interested in fixing the problems with this article. After my substantial rewrite, I see that you restored a couple of tags I removed at the top of the page, which in turn reference unspecified conversations on the talk page. I'd really like to clean things up so these aren't necessary, but I can find no specific conversations on the talk page that relate to the page in its current form, and therefore am unable to fix the problems that warrent the inclusion of these tags. Could you please clarify -- preferably in a new section on the article's talk page? Or better yet, just remove or revise the offending content. Thanks! Lambtron (talk) 16:41, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Another issue: you changed "is intended to promote" to "promotes". I changed it to "intended to promote" because that appears to be its actual purpose, but not always the result as exemplified by its various health risks. Lambtron (talk) 16:46, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

I tried to help out too, but I think I know what happened: I think there was an edit conflict between one of your edits and one of my edits: I re-added the two maintenance templates after there was a weasel word that I placed, whilst you removed the unpredictable statement that I tagged. So I apologise if I've done anything wrong or unnecessary. I hope this answers your question. Minimac (talk) 16:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
And in response to the other issue: We probably need some evidence from a reference to support the statement, for example the official website or any published sources or something like that. I don't know much about CrossFit, since I just bumped in to a random page. Minimac (talk) 16:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
In light of this editing "collision", do you think it's reasonable to once again remove the maintenance templates? Lambtron (talk) 17:07, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
OK, Go ahead then. I understand how much hard work you've done to the article. Minimac (talk) 17:10, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

What on earth possessed you to seek edit protection for an article where the only dispute was an entirely civil discussion about the content? There has been no edit warring and the discussion was essentially resolved before the protection was even imposed. Might you have asked first? bd2412 T 02:30, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Well, there was a dispute earlier on, involving Off2riorob and Sinistrial as I saw in the history box. I don't really care how "civil" the discussion is, but if I see a large edit war I seek protection usually. I may have asked later than I should, but if you think the dispute was resolved you can try requesting unprotection for it. Minimac (talk) 05:56, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I came in at the tail end and mistakenly thought the dispute at issue was my interaction with Off2riorob (which is the discussion to which the protecting admin appended his comment). bd2412 T 23:26, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Editor Review: done

User talk

I have done an editor review for you at Wikipedia:Editor review/Minimac/Archive2.

Perhaps you could consider doing a review of another editor? It takes a bit of time (reviews can take anywhere from about 15 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on how many contributions the editor has made, where they have contributed, etc).

The ones marked with a * are those editors who have not been reviewed yet — if you want to review one of these, make sure you remove the asterisks in the parts indicated!

If you have not done a review before, you might feel more comfortable giving a second review to an editor — this will show you an example of a review that has been done, and show you the kinds of things that can be commented on. I hope that you find the review useful. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about it.

I just wanted to clarify that his person has indeed died, but the newspapers have been slow to pick it up because it most likely has not been released beyond family members. I am one of his grandsons. One other person, who is a part of his second wife's family attempted some edits as an unregistered user. I'm watching news sources closely for any signs of an announcement, but have yet not seen any. Davidpdx (talk) 05:27, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

That's fine. I was just too aggressive reverting the IP's edits because there was no reference to confirm his death, plus this IP made a few vandalism edits too, so some of my reverts were OK. Anyway, Problem sorted, thanks for notifying me about this. Minimac (talk) 06:41, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

ACC

Hi, Minimac. Can you please confirm that you requested an account in ACC so that I can approve it? Thanks, Pmlineditor  08:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) As Phantomsteve recently declined my request, I have requested an account to the Account creation interface. I have registered and seen the welcome message a few minutes ago. Minimac (talk) 08:44, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
