Topic and Edit on List of Presidents of the United States

Hello, I noticed you reversed an edit done by someone else on the image of Andrew Jackson, with an edit comment, which I appreciate. But could you also include this on the talk page under FAQ #7? I asked a question there about it a while ago, and it was never answered. I am also not finding a reference for the photo-verus-painting preference, so a link to that would be helpful too, I think, and head off further questions. Mass killers - where to add William Fraser

Hi Millionsandbillions.

I am rather confused as to how the mass murders articles are structured, but I see you are working on them now.

Where do you think Hornet Bank massacre#William Fraser should be added, killing over 100 over a number of years, with impunity too it seems.

I don't think Fraser should be added to the List of rampage killers as his case seems to be more that of a serial killer, a murderer who kills over an extended period of time, than a rampage killer, which kill over a much shorter time period. I would suggest adding him to List of serial killers by number of victims and/or List of massacres of Indigenous Australians instead. -- Millionsandbillions (talk) 22:11, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

David Burke

I know this was a while ago, but i think david burke belongs to the americas section of the list of rampage killers. I'm not sure why it's not showing up. It isn't appearing in any other article the template appears in either. The template is not under WP:Pending changes so it's not that. I have noticed before that it seems to take a while for templates to change when edited so it may be a problem with templates in general on Wikipedia. -- Millionsandbillions (talk) 19:37, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Something got messed up with the table code with your last edit. Please see page history and check the tables field for Total Days when the field is changed to ascending or descending order. It took the current shutdown to the top or straight bottom, ruining the usefulness of the field. Again see edit before and after. Anyways, wanted to explain what happened. About List of rampage killers

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give List of rampage killers a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into List of rampage killers (other incidents). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. You are mistaken on what I did. I did not copy and paste move the List of rampage killers article; I spun out the section of the List of rampage killers article headed Other incidents per WP:SPINOUT because the size of that section was becoming too large for the main article. I do admit that I made a mistake in not wikilinking to the original article in my first edit summary and for that I apologize. To reiterate, I did not move the entire page; I spun out a section per WP:SPINOUT. I don't see how else I could have done it.Millionsandbillions (talk) 04:36, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
