Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled[edit]

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Edit summaries[edit]

Please could you refrain from pinging me in edit summaries? Thanks, Seemplez 17:49, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In the spirit of collaboration, I ping people when I fix perceived problems with their edits. Sometimes, the necessary repair is ambiguous because their intent is unclear. Even if not, a mention in the edit summary actively gives them a chance to review my changes and double-check my work. Sorry, but I make lots of edits and will be unlikely to remember your personal preference. Meanwhile, I hope you've reviewed my fixes to your recent edits and agree with them -- or can give them further attention until they're to your liking. -- Mikeblas (talk) 18:00, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding Your use of rev-del. The thread is Request for administrator comment on out of scope use or abuse of rev-del. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyleshome (talkcontribs) 05:59, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kyleshome, looks like this is alredy settled and I can't even comment on it. What is "rev-del"? -- Mikeblas (talk) 17:46, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ahah, I see: since Reed's law was protected along with Reed's Law, and you didn't see any vandalism in the history of lower-case-law, you assumed I had inappropriately administratively deleted old revisions of that article without following whatever process is necessary. And, immediatley took the matter to the Admin's noticeboard. Do I have it right? -- Mikeblas (talk) 17:52, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my name is Giorgi, editor of Georgian Wikipedia. I wonder why did you put the Undisclosed Payment template on the article? The article is created on a prominent Georgian artist, the article is neutral and sources are included.--გიორგი ჩუბინიძე (talk) 12:47, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Are you sure it was me? I last edited the article in 2018, and the version I produced doesn't have {{Undisclosed paid}}. Looks to me like the template in question was most recently added by User:Jerome501. -- Mikeblas (talk) 17:25, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
