List comprehensions edit

In reference to: "The recent edit you made to Comparison of programming languages (list comprehension)" There is a quite informative Edit summary given. Please read it and reinstate the edit. Ruby, by its examples shows the use of map to perform similar functionality where the whole point of a list comprehension is to not use map and filter but to closely follow set-builder notation as it states in the article. Images

Hey, I continued the conversation from Wikipedia:WikiProject Numismatics/Assessment to save space there. Maybe you could try commons:Template:Money-EU for the images. It's used for the images on €2 commemorative coins and looks to be basically a PD tag. You may wish to consult with User:Nightstallion as I'm sure he would know for sure. Do you mean you want to continue the conversation here? I have no problem with that.
I tried that too, is in the archives. That can not be done because the images of the coins we are talking about are not for circulation, so they are not property of the ECB, but of the local country bank. Believe me, from the legal stand point, is a dead end: we will never obtain free rights to those images, not even for the time been, specially now where the banks have by far bigger problems to take of.
The only solution is to change the policy that allows fair-use images to be used on a list where the images are the subject of the list like in the articles we are referring to. We also started that debate and nothing, nobody replied. I can send you the links if you want to. Did you check the countries I said they are ready? They are FA/FL material, and we have spent so much time collecting all the information. We just need that policy to change and we will be able to promote the whole series to FL at least. An administrator suggested long time ago that this would be a very good WP:FT.
Yes, please let me know where you started a discussion on the policy, there's to many archives for me to sift thru. I think we can make a case for minimal use, I'll try talking to someone about it. I do hope we can continue our cause:
As you can see the idea is to let these articles to live as an exception, where the images are the topic being listed and with a proper fair-use rationale. There is no conclusion and the last thing left was for me to talk to the Featured List committee, but the main person in that committee is currently on vacation and he passed his role to somebody else, so I gave up.
BTW, the work that I was doing with the ECB is pretty much going no where either, since they have no capacity now with all the financial problems to work on this.

Editing/Euro coins/Greece

Hey Mateo...I started to edit as you requested which came at a perfect time since I was getting frustrated by an editor at Sara Palin article. But...you need to check something first and change since I dont know if the info is correct. I'm only editing the prose. It seems that the description for the second and third coin have been interchanged. I let you repair since, like I say, i don't know if the info is also in need of aligning. Hey Mateo...check out the suggested paragraphs at ....Euro and Gold Commemoratives/Greece/TALK. What do you think, so far?...I'm cutting so that it is NOT flowery, as mentioned by critics before. But sometimes, as I look forward, my editing may be TOO severe. I dont want to take out things that you may find necessary or important. Maybe this way you can see and judge as the process continues. When we agree, I can make the change and then delete the entry at Talk and proceed. Just an idea...is it too cumbersome?...too many steps? Let's try and see what happens. Hey Matt...I have given numbers to the para's for easy reference as I work on them. I count 31 that are descriptions of the coins. I have completed the first 19 (Minoan civ. to football). I will make every effort to complete before Friday since I will be traveling after then until the 5th of next month. I noticed your numbering system and made it easy for me too to see where you were referencing to. What is left is not too much, but it is not as "floral" as theo thers, so I do recognize the job is gettign difficult now. I have no plans to move the paragraph around, since this is the order of the article. The only thing that I might do is add wikilinks, but that is pretty much done. Thanks again for the hard work!   • I removed "final destination" for Latvia since the flame moves toward Greece the next dAY. iS THAT RIGHT?
  • 3,6-----should that be 3600?

Checked it and you were right in several points, I have done some changes. Attica is wikilinked, and it is a province of Greece, where Athens is located; so I think that is fine. I know how to use Wikipedia very well, so don't you tell me to use sanbox. And if you think that what I added to St. Sava is "unconstructive", I am sorry that I cannot give more precise info because it simply does not exist, and if you think that because of the lack of the exact date a Serbian saint should stay without any date of his canonization, I can say just... I am sorry you felt that way, but Wikipedia is about facts, and not about speculation. You tell me how the words "he was canonized soon after his death" is constructive. If this is not reliable and can not be confirmed, then should not be included. It is better to say nothing that something potentially false. This is a perfect example of the difficulty that arises when communicating in WikiWorld. So often miss-understanding happens. I think the basic problem is one of ownership. We (people) like/love the words we put together and we feel an ownership of them... We (people)(editors)feel like we own our thoughts, our ideas, our sharings, our edits...and when they are reverted or denied or changed, we get upset and defensive. And, then WE atttack! Editing for you has shown me how to detatch myself from what I write. You do it with grace and style. You present a background, a canvas to work on, and you step aside. I will take that as a compliment ;) I think that we all have our own area of comfort. I feel comfortable coming with the idea (the canvas as you mentioned) but I do need others (like you) to step in and make my idea brilliant. For that to work, as you properly mentioned, I have to step outside; or else we will be getting nowhere. The only thing that I religiously watch is for vandalism, comments without sources and removal of content without previous discussion.
Having said that, the pleasure is all mine, since I do enjoy your finishing and the dedication you put into helping others like me. I will be definitely looking for your help in the next article, but for now I will be creating wikilinks to the article you just copy/edited and that will take me a while. Hey Mateo...Thanks for your reverting of the assorted barnstars, etc on my talk page. But that was ME that moved them to Buster7/articles. I store put them there for storage. I don't want it to look like I "lifted" a barnstar and acted like it was given to me. Also, while I am here, let me ask a favor.

It did sound like vandalism in your talk page, but I saw the same IP doing the copy in the inside folder, so I thought for a second it could be you behind the scenes :) What kind of archiving do you want? I have an automatic archive that archives any thread older than 20 days into a foler with the structure <Year>/<Month> so it is very easy to navigate on the discussions I have had in a particular month. If you do not mind I can set it up similarly for you, and it will be done automatic, no need to care about it. Let me know, Miguel.mateo (talk) 14:18, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

OK, done, let the bot pick up your page, do not get impatient, it does that like twice a month or so. You may noticed already I also created the archive navigation panel on the right; the bot will populate that automatically. You will need to add new months going forward (like December 2008 once is reached), but you're welcome to change the layout, just do not change the folder structure (unless you want another type of archiving, like all conversations within a year for example). Also, very important, for the bot to work, all comments needed to be end-signed with ~~~~, so you might want to do some clean up while the bot queues you up for archiving. You were lucky, the bot cleaned up your page yesterday. There are still some threads without signatures, so they will not be archived unless you change them. Also, the archive panel on the right, you might not need the months of March, April ... etc, since there is no thread to archive in those months. I understand your interest in numismatics, but I'm really not sure that the main association football article is an appropriate place to be writing about coins with images of football on them. Peejay's talk page

I would recommend undoing this edit. If you look more closely then you'll see Mikemor92 was only doing what Mizlabot was doing. Peejay complained that because Mikemor had altered to pacific time the bot wasn't working so he did it himself. I admit I was confused at first but it soon becomes clear.
