Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:An-12 cub.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:A2.jpg. The copy called Image:A2.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

Hello Arthur, I'm not sure if you can help or not - but it appears from your user page that you're based in Kenya - and I know that Kenya is rather a large place (so perhaps you're nowhere near Nairobi), but even if Nairobi is on the far side of the country you have an advantage over me when it comes to recognizing names and politicians. I just wondered if there has been any follow up media coverage on the pipeline fire (or the recent tanker fire) (it might not be in english so perhaps I can't find it on a google search?) - and perhaps you can spot any errors I might have made - I might have accidentally said the wrong person was president or used the wrong title and called him prime minister. I think I got it right but just having a native of the country casting an eye over the article seemed like a good idea.

I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Invite to the African Destubathon[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year.
