May 2010[edit]

Hi, this is just to let you know that I moved the page you created (Pecial:Mypage/Ancient Egypt (First Dynasty) - Abydos Boats) to User:Merlynne6/Ancient Egypt (First Dynasty) - Abydos Boats as it appears you intended to create this page in your userspace. I have listed the original page title for speedy deletion as an inappropriate redirect left behind by the page move. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Also, please do not redirect your talk page to an article talk page, as this page is designed for correspondence with you, and it will cause confusion when people are trying to leave you messages. Thanks. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 09:44, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join WikiProject Ships[edit]

WikiProject Ships
WikiProject Ships
Hello Merlynne6! I noticed your contributions to a ship article, and thought you might be interested in WikiProject Ships, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of ships of all kinds.

If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks and related articles. Thanks! ~~~~

Lovely article about the Sparrow Hawk! Stop by the WikiProject Ships page and introduce yourself sometime. We can always use a few more fans of merchant sailing vessels and ancient watercraft. Djembayz (talk) 00:51, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The "help me" template[edit]

Hi there -- I heard you were having trouble placing a {{help me}} template on this page? Try copy/pasting a help me template in response to this post. Sometimes, what you post in an edit box is different from what is displayed. Putting things inside of double braces tells Wikipedia that you want to post something special, so a big help me box will look like a little {{help me}} in the edit box (without the nowiki tags, which tell Wikipedia to ignore whatever is inside those tags. Respond on my talk page, please, when you've tried to post one -- let me know what error message you're getting. Or, respond on Djembayz's talk page and he'll up a help me template and someone else will come along to help. :) Banaticus (talk) 03:28, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{help me}} Note -- this is test for placing template which seems OK, no error messages. Help on question has already been received. Thanks.

Editing graphics file name?[edit]

{{help me}} Is it possible to edit a graphics file name after upload? Or, if file name needs changing, must the file and page be deleted via deletion request, then reupload ? Thanks!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:BrantPoint 200x113.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
