George Quincey Lumsden, Jr.[edit]

Hello, I noticed you created the above article and first and foremost thank you for creating it and giving readers the vast knowledge they long for. Is this individual still living? I could not find any adequate sources that indicate this. If that is the case, do we know when his date of death was? The hints I took from reading it were the tenses used in the lead paragraph. (“Was” instead of “is”; etc) Thank you for your contributions. Tinton5 (talk) 02:33, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I assume he’s still living but I use the past tense, in my opinion correctly, to indicate the person no longer does x. Obama was President. He isn’t President now, so,if your first sentence mentioning his presidency said “Barack Obama is President of the United States”, then any reader would believe that that is his current occupation. But by saying was President, then you are indicating he was President but not currently. Lumsden was an ambassador, but currently is not. So to use the present tense would indicate something that isn’t true. Unless you reword it to say he he is a former ambassador....

Toily Kurbanov moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Toily Kurbanov, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. creffett (talk) 02:17, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Toily Kurbanov, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:30, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Igbo cuisine, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 19:42, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Toily Kurbanov[edit]

Hello, MensanDeltiologist. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Toily Kurbanov".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 18:03, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

June 2020[edit]

I noticed that you tagged Renato Peixe with {{prod blp}} for proposed deletion. I have removed the tag from the article because it does not meet the criteria specified. The placement requirements are (a) that subject is living, and (b) that the article contains no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc., reliable or otherwise) supporting any statements made about the person in the biography. Please fully read Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people before tagging articles for proposed deletion. Thank you. Adam9007 (talk) 16:05, 19 June 2020 (UTC) I do believe your understanding is wrong.[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Renato Peixe; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Adam9007 (talk) 19:32, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:CITE, Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged - Place of birth, age and current club of the aforementioned player are not likely to be challenged - besides, even if it were, the page contains external links that serve that purpose. Horcoff (talk) 20:05, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MensanDeltiologist. I was asked by Adam9007 to take a look at this discussion and this issue. First of all, thank you for being a long-time editor here and for evaluating new articles. But in this case. you are mis-applying the BLPPROD tag. If you read the instructions at WP:BLPPROD, they say To be eligible for a BLPPROD tag, the entry must be a biography of a living person and contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc., reliable or otherwise) supporting any statements made about the person in the biography. In the case of Renato Peixe, the article has two external links, so the article is not eligible for BLPPROD. There could be other reasons for deleting the article - for example, if the person does not meet the notability requirements at WP:NFOOTY it could be subject to AFD - but not BLPPROD. Hope this helps. -- MelanieN (talk) 20:06, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rosa Kornfeld-Matte requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://hospicecare.com/what-we-do/publications/newsletter/2014/10/policy-and-advocacy/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Category:Soccer venues in Puerto Rico requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
