Some help needed[edit]

Hey @Melchior2006. Thanks for your good work on cleaning up MOS:PUFFERY on highered pages. If you're interested, I have recently been cleaning up puff and undue information on secondary education pages in New England. Perhaps you might be interested in doing the same — there is a ton of work to do for to uphold WP:NPOV. GuardianH (talk) 21:11, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good, @GuardianH. I will take a look a little later. You are working your way through these pages in a regional manner? Can you give me the category you have been working within? --Melchior2006 (talk) 06:35, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Melchior2006 I think schools in Template:New England Preparatory School Athletic Council would be a good start; I've been combing through a number of them recently. Schools in that template tend to have additional categories within them (i.e. miscellaneous athletic associations, etc.) and other categories within them, so you can also use those to branch out into other schools. GuardianH (talk) 18:14, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On an additional note, categories such as Category:Private high schools in Connecticut or Category:Private high schools in New York (state) by county, etc. etc. are great to look through. GuardianH (talk) 18:33, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Of interest[edit]

Hey @Melchior2006, I thought you might be interested in this. A whole ton of the articles of schools listed in G30 Schools could use some substantial cleanup in terms of puffery removal. GuardianH (talk) 04:48, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I took a look. You were right! -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:24, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cinema of Italy[edit]

Hi, I wanted to ask you a favor: could you fix the entire article Cinema of Italy in the next few days in such a way as to remove the two tags at the beginning of the article? Greetings. --LukeWiller (talk) 22:20, 19 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]

I'm happy to work on it from time to time. "Fixing it" in the "next few days" may be a bit of a stretch. Is there a deadline looming? -- Melchior2006 (talk) 09:36, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, there is no deadline, but this problem has existed on the article for a long time, even Nikkimaria intervened every now and then. There is a risk that the article will be fixed who knows when, and the article in question has great relevance for the "Italy topic". --LukeWiller (talk) 13:11, 20 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]
Hi, I saw that you stopped fixing the article Cinema of Italy for two weeks. Did you do it because you're done and so the two tags at the beginning of the article can be removed? --LukeWiller (talk) 21:43, 15 April 2024 (UTC).[reply]
I don't think the tag should be removed yet. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:01, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have time to complete the work in the next few weeks? --LukeWiller (talk) 22:31, 16 April 2024 (UTC).[reply]
Sure, I'll be happy to take a look. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:48, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing pattern of harassment[edit]

You've never edited the article for Princeton High School (New Jersey) before (as verified here). I edited the article yesterday. Now you come along, less than a day later, and decide that of all articles for all schools in the English Wikipedia worldwide, this is the one that needs to have an "exported alum list".

I will remind you that WP:HARASS says that "Harassment is a pattern of repeated offensive behavior that appears to a reasonable observer to intentionally target a specific person or persons. Usually, the purpose is to make the target feel threatened or intimidated, and the outcome may be to make editing Wikipedia unpleasant for the target, to undermine, frighten, or discourage them from editing."

Why are you following my edits to a page you've never touched once before? It is targeted. It is repeated. It is distinctly unpleasant. The stench is overpowering. Alansohn (talk) 20:23, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No one is harassing you, as I have said before. You do wonderful work for Wikipedia. However, you do try to own articles. Slowly, you are beginning to harass me. So please stop. If you feel harassed in any way, please seek help. I would welcome an administrator's input on the harassment question and on a few other things about your Wiki-comportment. I won't, however, stop editing articles because of your scare tactics. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:00, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning for violations of WP:HARASS[edit]

You started editing 15 years ago. In your first edit, you wrote that "I am a theologian, archivist and theater historian working for the Catholic Church; most of my research is devoted to Benedictine-Cistercian biography and patrimony. Research on European prelate monasteries in the Baroque era is my focus in church history. I write about theater studies in various epochs.". In that 15-year period, editing thousands upon thousands of articles, you had never edited a single article about a populated place in New Jersey, which would be little surprise, as it's extremely far out of your work for the Catholic Church as a theologian and has no apparent connection to Benedictine-Cistercian biography and patrimony.

This was true until March 8 of this year, when you made this edit stalking me to the article for Collingswood, New Jersey, where you reverted my edit to an article you had never edited before. Today, you followed me to the article for Ridgewood, New Jersey, again an article you had never touched before, with this edit, splitting off a list of notables for an article you had never touched before and did so for the first time for an article for a populated place, not a school. There is nothing in your editing history that would make sense of these edits, other than an effort to harass me.

WP:HARASS states that "Harassment is a pattern of repeated offensive behavior that appears to a reasonable observer to intentionally target a specific person or persons." and that "Wikipedia must never be misused to harass anyone, whether or not the subject of the harassment is an editor here. Edits constituting harassment will be reverted, deleted, or suppressed, as appropriate, and editors who engage in harassment are subject to blocking and banning."

The evidence goes back more than two months. The violations of WP:HARASS are obvious, they are repeated and they are intentionally and maliciously targeted.

This is the final warning. Consequences will only be more severe if you continue the pattern of harassment. Alansohn (talk) 12:32, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
