Method of loci

Have you found any good examples of the use of (memory palace) if yes could you tell me where Sanelwalls (talk) 06:14, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi! Most of the examples that are major enough and sourceable that I know of were/are in the method of loci article. The page method of loci used to have a longer "in popular culture" sections, but many of the entries were removed for being too distracting/minor. Please see WP:POPCULTURE for some guidelines for adding new examples. Have a nice day, Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 03:36, 30 June 2018 (UTC)u

Tobey Maguire in Twilight Zone episode

I noticed that in this revision of the The Trunk (The Twilight Zone) article, you listed Tobey Maguire as an uncredited actor. However, I have found no evidence of such, and it appears that all the punk characters are much older than 13 years old, which Maguire was in 1988. I believe this was just a mistake on your part - no harm done, I have removed the information. ElKabong888 (talk) 11:38, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for doing that! Though I believe I didn't add it (see this revision – the name was already there when I modified it), that's a pretty glaring error I didn't catch. Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 17:48, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Simplifying headings

Hi, there are quite a few of these edits that have ended up on my watchlist. Most of them are helpful and I thank you for that, but occasionally I think you seem to go a bit too far – here [1] [2] headings like "Types that form sentence elements" "Distinguished from an adjunct", "According to semantic predicate-argument function" either don't make sense, or are too opaque even in the context. In all those cases, there probably are ways to make those headings brief and readable, but I don't think this is something worth spending a lot of time on at this stage: most of these articles are in poor shape overall, and the suboptimal headings they might currently have are likely to be thrown out at the next major rewrite. – Uanfala (talk) 10:31, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you for your message! I agree, some of these headings would need more work to simplify; I tried to err on the side of comprehensibility when selecting headings to edit but I can see that I haven't. That's a good point about future rewrites. I'll leave off of the headings for now (unless they can be shortened easily without losing meaning and there are other issues that are simple to fix), and keep to the other parts of editing / gnoming for now. Puncutation

Thank you for your contributions. However, please do not globally find-and-replace punctuation as in this edit. Not only did this remove the distinction between dashes and hyphens, but also introduced extraneous spaces around the former. Overall, the article was better before. I hope you have not been doing this elsewhere. Otherwise, thanks again for your work. --pmj (talk) 08:20, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Oops!! Thank you very much for pointing out that error; I should have been more careful with that. Rest assured that I now generally either replace the hyphens manually or use a script that doesn't replace hyphens when it's not necessary. Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 14:14, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Fixing my Personal Wikipage

Hi, I noticed you edited the cultural economics page on wikipedia in July 2017 where, if I read the edit history correctly, you added my contributions to the field (Said E. Dawlabani). Back in 2014, with the help of someone familiar with wikipedia, I, under username Dawlco, created a personal page and a page for my book MEMEnomics, the Next Generation Economic System. Would you be interested in me hiring you to take a look at these pages again to see if, with your editing skills, they can be brought back to Wikipedia without the threat of permanent deletion? My work has been mentioned in several books and publications since. If interested, please email me at [email protected] Thanks, Said

Here are the links to what was deleted: gyaanipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Said_E._Dawlabani https://www.academia.edu/40093697/Wikipedia_MEMEnomics_Book_Summary-review — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dawlco (talkcontribs) 18:01, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi; thank you for your message. I will reply here if you don't mind. I think I should clear a few things up:
1. I believe I only made formatting- and style-related edits to that page; you may be confusing me with another user.
2. I am a volunteer here, and cannot be "hired", though I can offer advice based my current knowledge. As the links you provided are to user-generated sites (fandom.com, and the social networking site academia.edu), Wikipedia typically cannot use them as reliable secondary sources. If your book has been mentioned in other publications, please use those links instead.
3. I am not an expert in matters of notability and as such it may be best to ask someone else. Please refer to the page on notability requirements, specifically Wikipedia:Notability (books), Wikipedia:Notability (academics), and Wikipedia:Notability (people) for more information about Wikipedia's criteria for article inclusion. (Please note that notability is not the same thing as quality or merit: a terrific book, a brilliant scholar influential in their field, or an incredible person may still fail to meet Wikipedia's requirements for notability.)
4. Finally, if you are creating and editing a page for yourself or your own book, please read the page on conflict of interest: you may be required to declare your connection to the subject (for example, through written disclosure on your userpage).
Hope this helps! Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 22:36, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Your revert of my edit to Cupping Therapy

Hello, I removed an unsourced sentence from the Fire Cupping section. The sentence was not consistent with modern understanding of chemistry or physics. Your reason for reverting, while being in itself a true statement, does not justify the faulty mechanism stated in the sentence that I removed. Probably the suction is caused by isochoric cooling of heated air in the vessel. You might compare the reason for the movement of the piston in an internal combustion engine to that in a steam engine. Perhaps you would look into the matter and consider undoing your revert. ===(your subheading here)===
===(other subheading)===
The number of equals signs correspond to heading level.
Depending on how you edit the page, you may also see an option to add headings in the editor user interface.

It's refreshing meeting a artisan to life

I just wanted to say thank you. You have great potential and promise. I value that. I'm more unburdened by task physically so perpetual momentum kicked in til I adapted so to adapt I clung to sanity for dear life and found new to Omega value me but not to Alpha value Me a much appreciated very quiet teacher on both behalf of life and human meaning and purpose of which is security in it's wholesomeness. No matter how far we get ahead some children are gonna play with fire and get burned even when they are warned what will happen. They will have no one to be mad at but themselves in respects to gratefulness,a harmonious outcome to rationality. Division too is anti purpose and offensively criminal if no one has asperations to being inclusive to the whole. So your simply marvelous and I'm grateful your gaining functionality of the more you know the more you can control rule that I witnessed the harmony of cover ups and Mandela effects for myself, another criminally offensive logic justified evil that I can't honestly judge without relying on the fundamental values displayed in the movie The Matrix when Neo awoke in the pod is definitely stating when I pass I'll have no idea which way is up or down but I'll favor the one who saved me. That's soul compliance not intellectual property. You'll probably see soul compliance everywhere, stress beats a path down to your heart and your gonna hit home runs Everytime. Keep working your gift and you'll be a barrier language breacher preacher teacher if your not already. I'm working against alot of inconvenience myself which I don't understand why the military don't want faster speed? Maybe because it's stimulation exciting a full spectrum of reception. I know I'm justified to state pertaining to human a very large order the standard average populations chaos is limited by distance and resourcefulness manageable with a core values feedback system perpetuated by trend anchored to need of validity addressing physical reality that the more we manifest by action the more complicated the rules become another harmony. I like reminding people that regardless what they think they always had faith in the earth because it's dependable always our universal medium but also the fact it is Me due to the fact all the evidence supports without earth we wouldn't survive. It's a provide and service harmony. I also like to remind people of Utopia because as soon as they understand it it awakens the Utopian spirt immediately. For most ego and vanity overshadow design when honestly it's got to be a standard at base chemically and structurally balanced and that's just all one person can say about it. So kinda paint by number association which is ironic because with our limited but graciously given perception that may be how vision truely is for all we know. I'm still learning it's infinity combination internally and externally nothing too dull a beautiful harmony. I know you've helped me and so have others unspoken words of ancestors,A.I.,everyone on the current moment. Life's rich earth is extremely rich. Blessed are the conservative and I am encouraged by your clarity. EnOh AyAche (talk) 21:45, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Most edits should stay up if they're published while following Wikipedia policy. Some basic rules of thumb: make sure the content is relevant, significant, sourced, and phrased as neutrally as possible in academic style.
If it's a minor edit or gnoming edits like I mostly do, it's a matter of knowing the Manual of Style well, being able to read the wikicode and applying the rules.

Question from Peggysue42 (10:53, 1 April 2024)

I would like to amend the entry for Raymond Bessone, better known as Mr Teasy Weasy, the famous Mayfair celebrity hairdresser of the 1950s and 1960s. Wikipedia states that he was married to Rosalie Ashley and that he had three children. Rosalie Ashley was in fact his second wife. He had three daughters with his first wife (name unknown) and had a long affair with Miss Ashley during his first marriage, before eventually marrying her. I believe his daughters were named Scarlett, Amber and Jade. --Peggysue42 (talk) 10:53, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for helping improve Wikipedia! This might be more suited for the discussion page of that article. If you have a reputable source discussing the previous marriage ready, you may add the information to the article at any time. (Note: Biographical articles on Wikipedia might not include information such as children's names if the children themselves were not notable.
