License tagging for Image:CSPlogo1960.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CSPlogo1960.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CSElogo1960.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:CSElogo.jpg. The copy called Image:CSElogo.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Orphaned non-free media (Image:CSPlogo2005.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CSPlogo2005.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:19, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:CSPlogo1960.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Printmaking clubs[edit]

A tag has been placed on "printmaking clubs", requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Salona (talk) 08:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "print Clubs"[edit]

A tag has been placed on "print Clubs" requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. csp logos[edit]

Hi Maryly, I see you have come back, your request at Wikipedia:Files for upload/October 2010#California Society of Printmakers' logos has some questions that may be able to get answers from you, such as could some of the old logos be public domain. I did not get an answer by email from you, but you could answer here too.

  • For fair use there must be a fair use rationale. For the current logo, that is no problem justifying it, but for the older ones there will need to be text commenting on the image. For the oldest ones, they may be public domain, due to publication without copyright notice, or pure age. (pre 1923). Can you identify when each was published and whether they are public domain?
  • If the earliest logo is public domain, then the C S P variant would also be public domain due to only E changing to P.
  • California Printermaker magazine banner could also be template:PD-text-logo.
  • The pre 1960 version with two red circles and a handles could be public domain if it was used without copyright, eg on letter head, or envelopes. Is this the case? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:47, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Using the talk[edit]

When you see a talk page you would like to respond to, click the "edit this page" tab or link, then scroll to the bottom of the edit box, or whereever the text is that you want to respond to. A tag has been placed on File:Aurelia Reinhardt.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Printmaking society[edit]

The article Printmaking society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be an unsourced permastub. Perhaps the individual societies are more useful as an article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
