Warren Goodhind[edit]

You included a reference to 'markroachonline.wixsite.com' - are you saying you have no link to that website? GiantSnowman 11:21, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was referring to the Barnet FC podcast - as this was an interview with Warren where he was a guest on the show and talked about his time as a player at Barnet, coming over to England from SA aged 3 and it mentions that he was Barnet's youngest ever captain, so I thought it was relevant and a good source. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mark Roach Southall FC. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Early Doors Football Podcast, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 11:22, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

August 2021[edit]

Hello Mark Roach Southall FC. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Early Doors Football Podcast, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mark Roach Southall FC. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mark Roach Southall FC|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Longhair\talk 11:24, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - I can confirm that I do not receive any fee for this podcast. which as stated is being produced by 4TheNow Media. A lot of care and attention has been made to write this page from a factual and accurate point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Roach Southall FC (talkcontribs)
There are several issues here. You have a conflict of interest with this topic as the podcast host and should not be editing the article directly. Edits should be requested via the article talk page. Secondly, the podcast is but 2 days old... it may not meet the criteria for being notable for inclusion at Wikipedia. A lot of the references refer to Mark Roach but not in the context of the podcast, which is what this article is about. Doesn't Spotify pay per stream? If so, that's also considered to be paid editing. -- Longhair\talk 11:34, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello - Point taken about me not editing directly and understood. The references to Mark Roach are relevant. The podcast was created by Mark Roach who is the editor and the host. There is a section with information about the host and co hosts which explains why they are relevant to be a host / co host for a football podcast. The episode descritpions describe the podcast content which includes the host and co hosts talking to guests. I confirm that I do not receive any payment for the podcast. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.101.131 (talkcontribs)
Please login... again, the article isn't about Mark Roach... it's about the podcast. It appears you're attempting to bloat the article with content which otherwise wouldn't exist about the podcast as Wikipedia requires, being significant coverage in reliable sources. -- Longhair\talk 11:45, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Longhair. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to List of sports podcasts have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Longhair\talk 12:22, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If the article is deleted can you advise after how many episodes it would be acceptable to produce a page for this podcast? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.101.131 (talkcontribs)
Can you stop editing while logged out thanks. Wikipedia does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person. As for your question... Wikipedia doesn't work that way. It's not a place for folks to promote their interests... see above, the topic must have received significant coverage in reliable sources to be included here. -- Longhair\talk 11:57, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
