Differences between film versions of The Omen[edit]

This page is a cut-and-paste move attempt of Differences between film versions of The 0men, and therefore the redirect will need to go in the other direction. A page cannot be moved over a redirect-with-history, which is what the speedy-delete tag is for. (If I was an admin, the process would simply be delete new version, rename old version). Changing the page to a redirect blocks this. The new page has to be deleted, then the old page moved in its place. (Doing it the other way round would destroy the history). The move can be done by any user more than 4 days old (I was planning to do it myself), but the delete has to be done by an admin (thus the speedy tag). ais523 17:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are two pages involved, the new page (with O) and the old page (with 0). The ideal final situation is to have the old page named with an O, and the page with an 0 being a redirect without history, with all the history moved to the O-page. So first, an admin deletes the current new page, which contains no useful history (just a cut-and-paste as the first edits, and various move/redirect attempts after that), and then anyone moves the current old page to the O-title (which moves the history). That was actually caused by a race condition. Bernalj90 was trying to put the correct speedy tags on the article to ask an admin to sort out the history problems, but while he was doing this RHaworth actually sorted the problem out. Noone is at fault here. --ais523 07:19, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
