I tried to submit some information for a page to be considered for deletion. I must have made one of the helpers here angry as I posted to the wrong place and got a stern talking to. (I am so, so, so sorry) I feel terrible and I tried to explain I have really no idea what I am doing when it comes to trying to reach people here. I am mostly just a user of Wiki for info for projects.. etc... I am not savvy like the rest of you all.. But I do believe I have valuable information to share with someone here regarding a living biography currently up on wikipedia. I have concerns regarding validity of information and abuse of link use. If ANY ONE is kind enough to just help me I would be happy. I promise not to be any trouble to anyone. All I want is to share my information and you all can do what you like with it. Many thanks.. Jill Adams (do I use those little squiggles here too?) Just in case Mafhoney 08:18, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! First of all, relax and don't worry - we encourage users to be bold and edit articles without asking anyone for permission. Could you give me some links to which articles you are talking about? (yes, those squiggles insert your signature, so they should be here, absolutely correct) Henrik 08:30, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh thank you! A friendly voice in the abyss! LOL! Okay.. wasn't trying to make any changes.. just wanted to bring to the attention of someone some concerns about a particular person's biography as I believe I have challenging information that disagrees with this person's biography. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Bellinghaus If some can help me in the direction I need to go that would be great. I would prefer NOT to edit this person's bio.. just would rather have someone look the information and decide if it warrants more conversation. (do you get this if I just write this down here?- I feel just like an idiot! LOL!) Thanks Jill Mafhoney 08:35, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe you have some information that challenges that in the article, and you have reliable sources to prove it, go right ahead and add it to the article. If you think it is a controversial move, go to the Talk or Discussion page of the article and propose your change. Hope that helps. :)- TwoOars 08:41, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you absolutely don't want to edit the article for whatever reason, please post whatever you intend to change, here on your talk page. I'll see if it can be added. Though I have to warn you, I am not familiar with the subject at all. - TwoOars 08:46, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For reference, Jill, the article Mark Bellinghaus has been nominated for deletion two times, here and here. You might be interested to read the discussion there. I would agree that the person seems to be of dubious notability, but it does include 3rd party sources so at least some newspaper editors disagree :). Much of the article seems to be sourced from this: http://www.laweekly.com/general/features/immortal-mayhem/15364/. In general, the criteria for inclusion in wikipedia is verifiability, not truth.
