Nomination of Social networking sites in Peru for deletion[edit]

Hi, Lucilu93, and please let me offer you a belated Welcome to Wikipedia. :) My name is Moonriddengirl, and I also edit Wikipedia.

I'm sorry that I'm here with bad news, but I don't think that the article on Social networking sites in Peru is appropriate for Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for a couple of reasons. It doesn't tell what sources it used in presenting its information, and it isn't neutral - it argues for a certain point of view. This is perfectly fine for essays that you might write for school, for instance, but doesn't really match our goals here. I've started a discussion as to whether the article should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Social networking sites in Peru until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion, even you. I explained a little more there what my concerns are. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, please do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. This won't stop the deletion discussion from happening, but might mean fewer people can give an opinion about it.

Again, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Most of us have put content on Wikipedia that others disagreed with at some point or the other. (My very first edit was wiped out, and deservedly so!) Usually, it's just about figuring out what policies do allow and contributing that kind of content.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to come by my talk page. You can find it by following the "talk" link after my username. Thank you, and, again, welcome. Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:52, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
