Using Widget on my Mac.

Dear Wikipedia Advisor, I use Widget to quickly access Wikipedia "search." How can I use the "copy/paste," on my Mac without causing the widget to "disappear" as I attempt to "paste" onto the seach line? Or, is there some other way to maintain "fulltime" access on my desktop, to a Wikipedia's science glossary/dictionary? Currently, the only alternitive I am aware of, is to fully "open" Wikipedia, which can be awkward when I already have something else downloaded (and I don't want to loose in the process). I would appreicate any help you can provide. Thank you, Loyde
