They Say[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article They Say, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? gracz54 (talk) 22:03, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of They Say[edit]

I have nominated They Say, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/They Say. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. "contacted Fredrick"[edit]

I just noticed you plan on contacting Fredrick Brennan directly. If he writes back, could you ask him for a self-photo? It would improve the article noticeably. He'd have to write: "I am the photographer of this photo, and release it under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/" so its freely reusable, and we would forward that to Wikimedia Commons. ---GRuban (talk) 00:10, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Someone already did but he barely replies, he gets a lot of emails because of the site's problems already, you can try [email protected] (public email listed on his site, no doxxing) Loganmac (talk) 00:13, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I can see - at least I don't see any issues raised with the photo yet. --GRuban (talk) 00:11, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Criticism of Wikipedia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Inquisitor. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hatred (video game), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Twitch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Orphaned non-free image File:Subnautica PS4 cover art.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Subnautica PS4 cover art.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:41, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am perfectly content with "an exchange with", but frankly I am astonished that you can characterise "comments about" as a replacement for "harassing" as an example of editorializing. Regards, Jonathan A Jones (talk) 11:12, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think both of them imply Lindsay said those comments unprovoked out of nowhere, when that's not what sources say, that's all Loganmac (talk) 01:07, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, 1RR[edit]

Just so you're up to date - Andy Ngo is under a 1RR restriction. PeterTheFourth (talk) 12:38, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and you should read the restriction again "Edits made which remove or otherwise change any material placed by clearly established consensus, without first obtaining consensus to do so, may be treated in the same manner as clear vandalism." if there's no consensus the status quo is to be mantained until it's reached.

You should self-revert.

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for defending me many years ago. In 2014 I had a very negative perception of the Wikipedia community due primarily to behavior by Ryulong. I know some people thought you were silly to claim WP:BITE by Ryulong against me, as no one thought I'd edit here regularly, but you were right and they were wrong. As I wrote on my userpage just now:

When I made this account, I knew I wanted to write, but I wanted to be anonymous. But, after years of volunteer work on Wikipedia, I decided anonymity was costing me more than it was worth—I couldn't openly share my work with friends nor use it in my curriculum vitae without concern that I would be doxed. So, on 12 May 2020 I decided to dox myself on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. As they say, the rest is history.

your comment about 'anything Russian'[edit]

First off - and I know you understand this - editors are concerned about anything from the regime of the RF, not just generically "Russian." The RF is not a democracy, it is approaching a (milder) Stalinist dictatorship, with the 'dictator' just having made himself president for 50 years or life or whatever the measure Putin passed was. There is no free press. Like it or not, propaganda and censorship runs rampant there, and if you make too many negative waves about the gov't, you could be assassinated. I have many friends in several Russian cities, and they are very nervous just to communicate with me these days. This is the fact of life - no more, no less, and the English Wiki is going to follow up along these lines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.111.8.23 (talk) 15:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Thriller Records[edit]

Hello, Loganmac,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Greyzxq and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Thriller Records, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Greyzxq}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

@Greyzxq Hey, thanks for the heads up. Yeah I saw the discussion but I think the circumstances changed, mainly the signing of more notable bands and hence the coverage of the label itself. I think the article is in a more decent stage now to be improved upon, without it looking too promotional. Didn't know if I had to discuss on the deletion page. I figured it wouldn't get attention.
