External links[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Iran. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. License tagging for Image:Qajar-aftab SUN.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Qajar-aftab SUN.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I have reverted your edits to the Orders, Medals and decorations project page. That section is for articles that have passed the Featured article criteria. They have to pass through the Featured article candidates process before they are listed as WP:FA. Frankly, those articles are not yet of featured status, see some of the other Order pages listed in that section for ideas on how to improve the articles. If you simply want to add any articles that you think are under the project scope, just add the following text onto the talk page of the article: {{WPODMBanner}}. Any queries can be left on my talk page. Lastly, welcome to wikipedia. Thanks. Woodym555 19:28, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Persian-daric.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Persian-daric.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:Persian-daric.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 00:47, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Leyden-academy-logo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Leyden-academy-logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:41, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

iroon.com[edit]

Hi. On this edit you used iroon.com as a source which is not a reliable source. It's a community website without editorial oversight as you see at about section of the website.Farhikht (talk) 13:35, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know Iroon.com is a community website, but it has just quoted a part of a published book. The main source here is the book "Persian Musicians" (Roshanak Publications/Iran Heritage Society, 2008), not Iroon.com. Leo71538 (talk) 13:41, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here the source is iroon.com not the book. The article that you used has been submitted by a user. I also noted that this content has been added to the article by User:Farmokopole which is a suck-puppet of User:Shayan7 who has been blocked for Sock-puppetry and the promotion of Pejman Akbarzadeh, the writer of this book.Farhikht (talk) 14:19, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Farhikht, I traced your complains about the writer of the book and I came to this conclusion that it seems you have a big personal problem with him. I checked your contributions on Wiki and noted that you just search his name and delete whatever is produced/written by him. I just searched his name as well on the internet and noted in the filed of music, journalism and Iranian studies he is quite active. Various works by him also have been used by both media and academic circules. Leo71538 has already mentioned some of them.
So When someone's works are available online and they are good enough, there is no problem that we use them on Wiki as well. You regularly just mention his name and do not pay any attention to the work itself! If you find mistakes or problems in them then mention it please. For example in case of Jalil Shahnaz you once removed the reference to the book "Persian Musicians" because it's 'promotional'. Then we should not use any book as our references in Wiki! I read that text. It's a simple text on the artistic career of the maestro and has no promotional goal/content. A lot of Persin-language websites also has quoed from the book when Jalil Shahnaz passed away.
Your contrubutions' history shows that you have also removed the refrences related to this book in the followsing pages:
PARVIZ MAHMOUD(composer)
HOSSEIN NASSEHI (composer)
SYMPHONISCHE DICHTUNGEN AUS PERSIEN (LP disc), for this entry you have not provided any reference either and we can not use AMAZON as a reference!
etc.
And recently you have nominated the page for his documentary film Hayedeh Legendary Persian Diva ! HELLO ! What is going on?! Let's respect those who are productive in such fields and pay attention to the content of their work. Stay away from personal issues please. Thank you. --Khafesho (talk) 19:25, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SPI discussion[edit]

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Shayan7, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Farhikht (talk) 17:10, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is no other account by me. Fortunately it's easy to track so I don't need to declare anything. Please do not disturb anymore. Leo71538 (talk) 20:18, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
