Film infobox[edit]

Hi! Just spotted this edit, and you are correct, there is no such parameter as "box office" for the film infobox. However, this can be replaced with "gross" instead. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:09, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Lugnuts:This is an interesting point that I thought I knew but grew increasingly skeptical about as I was editing these infoboxes the other day. I read through some of the archive discussions on the Template:Infobox film talk pages and the number of comments about if box office and/or gross included home video distributions intake, post-release features, merchandising, etc., etc. seemed non-conclusory. So although I originally assumed the gross and box office were fungible, I'm still not 100% if the number reflected in an incorrectly declared BO param is an accurate reflection of actual accepted gross (i.e. IMDb-sourced or some other). In this instance, you're clearly right and the two are interchangeable - I'll admit I didn't pay enough attention to the supporting ref; however, I'll admit to a degree of ongoing skepticism for unsourced BO numbers. Hi. Thanks for the ping. I'm not sure if you look at WT:FILM, but the box office issue is a current hot topic, with these posts being the most recent about the current issues: (one, two). Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:22, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts:Great sources, I hadn't gotten quite that far into it yet. Thanks for the references.Lawaspirant5580 (talk) 16:24, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Snooker Infobox[edit]

Just as an FYI as your edit on Sam Craigie - the current ranking is generated from Template:Infobox snooker player/rankings. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 19:27, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
