AfD nomination of Danny Welbeck

An editor has nominated Danny Welbeck, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Danny Welbeck (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:00, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/newton

I updated the page at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/newton with an alternative that addresses your reason for opposing the Featured status of this picture. If you wish to assess the update and vote accordingly, please feel free to do so. scetoaux (talk) (My contributions.) 04:11, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Userboxes

What are these "userboxes" and how do I get them? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rj1020 (talkcontribs) 20:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Go to User:UBX. At the bottom, you'll see a template in which will lead you to different types of userboxes for different subjects. Within those pages, you'll find something similar to {{user en}} and you can paste it onto your userpage. crassic![talk] 22:19, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Request

Could I ask you to state your reasons next time at Featured Picture Candidates? It makes it easier to find consensus. Also, your opinion may not be counted as the nomination outcome is not reliant on votes, but as consensus. Without reasons, I would be forced to extend the nomination period indefinitely, which is unfair on the other candidates. Thankyou. Microchip 08 20:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Afd discussion

Crassic, I nominated the article and somehow made a double page. The nomination is at, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Srila Prabhupada: The Prominent Link (2nd nomination). Thanks. Ism schism (talk) 01:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I saw that after I had voted. I just figure that my computer was messing up. ;) crassic![talk] 01:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Sox Logo and BK

The Sox and BK do an annual fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund. The Sox logo is used in association. Also that may have been a cut and paste error on my part. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 20:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you very much for your comment regarding one of my pictures. Though the result is hundred percent oppose, I learned many issues related to photography from your and others comments. Since I am a novice in the filed of photography, I am still in my learning phase and would like to receive tips from you. I hope you won't mind if I request you in future to guide me through your comments regarding my pictures. Cheers. -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 14:15, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Y fantasysports.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Y fantasysports.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:29, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

If you don't know anything about soccer, right, but...

I didn't vandalise this article writing about Eriksson deal with Mexico National Soccer Team. So I will write it again, OK? 200.38.97.219 (talk) 00:05, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I apologize if I mistakenly removed your edit. But I reverted quite a bit, I seem to have jumped to the conclusion that it was all vandalism. Just remember to cite your edit. crassic![talk] 00:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Listen, I've tried to start a discussion with this guy on his talk page, and he won't talk. I'm not vandalising the page, and he won't justify his revert. Take a look at the history of the article, and you'll see I'm the one least at fault. Please feel free to block this guy. -- Grant.Alpaugh 02:34, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

No, my point is that this guy should be blocked. His user page is in violation of policy, and looking at his talk page shows how much he causes problems on WP. Please, feel free to look into blocking him. -- Grant.Alpaugh 02:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Barnstar

The Special Barnstar
I give you, Crassic, this Special Barnstar for changing those football/soccer logos into Portable Network Graphics. A long and monotonous job is now sorted. Nice one. Malpass93 (talk) 19:18, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

I added a citation for that fact (that Malcolm Allison introduced the red and black away strip in 1968). The key fact to consider here is that Allison wasn't manager until 1972, but he was assistant manager between 1965 and '72. I'll add that bit to Allison's infobox on his article in a minute. Thanks for the fact request though, always good to find indications of where the article needs improving. Falastur2 (talk) 12:21, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Ted Goodier

Hi, just noticed this diff from a couple of days ago, with edit summary "Put template(s) in proper order ..." It's probably the only one where you did this, but you seem to have moved the manager templates up to separate the "Metadata: see [[Wikipedia:Persondata]]" header from the Persondata itself. Don't know what the proper order for templates is, but I'm sure this isn't it! cheers, Struway2 (talk) 23:04, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: rivals.com

I respectfully disagree about rivals.com being a poll. The polls are published after the fact and are updated weekly, whereas rivals.com keeps the same rankings, regardless of changes to the class. In fact, the same player can potentially be a member of (and count towards the rankings of) more than one class if they sign but end up going JUCO for a year.

And I still believe there is a non-NPOV issue with the inclusion of that statement. If you include it for the 2008 team, you should also include the applicable rankings for all the other teams with wikipedia pages. Otherwise, I would say that the only reason it is included is because it's a positive for Bama, not because it is useful information given the subject matter. Though I'm a Bama fan, I try to look at it from the point of another school's fan: would a Clemson fan doing research into their next opponent care about Bama's 2008 recruiting class? I highly doubt it.

I would also appreciate it if you would hold off on the vandalism warnings; I don't see how they can possibly be seen as such. If a preseason magazine predicted Bama going 7-5 in 2008, it would not be encyclopedic, and its inclusion would not be helpful. The same could be said for rivals.com rankings.CH52584 (talk) 03:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

"are" to "is" changes in UK team articles

Hi,

Please don't make changes like this to the pluralisation of team names in UK articles without first discussing it. I raised a comment on the project page here regarding it, which made it clear that there isn't any consensus to do it one way or another amongst the community, but given that the sport press use the plural exclusively in the UK it definitely doesn't seem right to move away from it. Happy for it to happen on an individual basis on articles where it's been discussed, but not as a blanket change. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:01, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
