NUMB3RS vs. Numb3rs

Hello. The question of whether NUMB3RS should be re-titled to Numb3rs has been brought up again by Kernitou (talk · contribs). You mentioned on the previous occurance of this that you were able to contact the creators of Numb3rs for the official word on this if need be; would you be able to do so to settle this once and for all? NUMB3RS credit sequence

Can you then confirm why this has been dropped?

According to creator Cheryl Heuton the opening credits were removed to save costs of making a new sequence and it added a few minutes back into air time for the series. A far as I've heard, nothing about Peter MacNichol doing work for 24 had anything to do with the decision. --LadyShelley 05:04, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

They would have to make a new sequence because Peter MacNichol, and eventually Diane Farr would have to be taken out, and Charlie's monologue audio for the sequence for the opening would have to be shortened as well. If unable to be shortened, it would be rewritten and Krumholtz would record the new one. That's where the "saving costs" come in, not having to pay editors to do so, and paying Krumholtz to re-record. Is it possible, that once Diane Farr recovers, and MacNichol is done with 24, (most likely for Season 4, if renewed, and they stay with the show and start NUMB3RS saeson 4) the opening credits sequence used for season 3 will be put in for Season 4? --Socby19 23:29, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Socby19

Are you asking will a credit sequence be used for season four when they have all the actors back? No official word one way or the other has been announced, but my guess would be no. They production company has now done a complete season (as opposed to the odd episode) without an opening credit sequence, and I'll be very surprised if they go back to one next season.

As for Peter, right now his stint on 24 is finished and he's not scheduled to do anything for that series next year if it is renewed, there is some question as to how involved he will be in NUMB3RS next year. --LadyShelley 19:41, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that before Peter was pulled, there was an opening credit sequence because I can remember Dylan Bruno in the sequence, and I believe that he isn't in Season two's sequence. Socby19 19:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC)SocBy19

Season three has not had an opening title sequence all season. In season two, Dylan started out as more of a recurring character but 1/4 through the season his contract was upped and he was considered a "regular" character. [Larry Fleinhardt] is handicapped in needing Charlie to help him with the math involved as he doesn’t work the equations himself. This statement is inaccurate. In the "Pilot", Charlie and Amita, both mathematicians, were just teasing him. Numb3rs Season 3 DVD - edits???

I was hoping you could help me understand something. Knowing that you have the ability to contact somebody that works on or is close to the show, I think you should be able to. It came across to me last night seeing somewhat of a disclaimer on the box. Somewhat along the lines of "Episodes may have been edited from their network airing". Could you ask somebody which episodes and why. (This may explain why the cover omits the word 'Complete' which the other two had.) It also seems to me that they may have went through a different artist/designer for the printing, as the episode description is in a bigger font, as well as not listing the special features on the disc itself. Cheryl Heuton addressed this question on the numb3rs.org forum when the cover art was initially released. According to her, none of the episodes of the third season were edited in any way. It is a standard disclaimer CBS and paramount are putting on all of their television DVD releases now. --LadyShelley 03:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Effect of writer's strike on Numb3rs

Could you possibly find out how far into the season they have scripts for in the case that the strike happens to last four months again. Thanks. Socby19 06:45, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Cheryl and Nick aren't making very many public statements; they have said they have enough scripts to get through December, not sure if that's filming of episodes (meaning enough episodes to air through the spring) or if that's enough episodes in the can to get them through December.
