John Gery[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give User:Kristylewis/gery a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into John Gery. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. —capmo (talk) 16:35, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please assist me in moving or redirecting kristylewis/gery to ktlewis9 Ktlewis9 (talk) 18:25, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Kristy Lewis[reply]

Hi Kristy, I've requested it on the same day that I wrote you the message above. An administrator has already merged both pages, so there's nothing left to do on your part. Regards, —capmo (talk) 03:28, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:JohnGery.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:JohnGery.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:09, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please assist me in crediting the photograph. The photo on this page was taken by Kristy Lewis (myself). I don't know how to add the contribution. I'm the owner of the photograph.
Hi Kristy, I'll try to help you with that. The attribution must be added to the photo itself, not here on your talk page. I'll do it. Regards, —capmo (talk) 03:18, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Ktlewis9. You must first chose the terms under which you want to let us – and anyone else, for any purpose – use the photo. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted_materials#Donating your photographs for information on acceptable terms. Then copy the appropriate template onto the image description page at File:JohnGery.jpg. Did this answer your question? – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 03:24, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. I though you had already chosen a copyright license. Since you haven't yet, please follow the above guideline by Finnusertop. —capmo (talk) 03:37, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added the photo source information, but I'm not sure it is correct. Also, I choose the creative commons license for the photo. Again, I don't know how to add this information. If you could help me that would be great. I am working to resolve my issue. Kristy Lewis

Hi Kristy, you had added the license tag to the wrong page, I just moved it to the image description page for you. I believe that now this issue is resolved. —capmo (talk) 18:48, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
