RfA[edit]

I'd like to hear your opinion here considering this is about the fourth user or so to inquire about my interest. Thanks,--Giants27(Contribs|WP:CFL) 19:36, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you being the adminstrator coach for Giants27, is there anyway I could nominate him for RFA. He told me to refer to you. Thanks Secret account 20:01, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I feel he is sufficiently ready. -- King of ♠ 23:06, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I actually have some spare time on my hands right now, so I'm going to start the nomination myself. Feel free to add a co-nom. -- King of ♠ 23:54, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

article deletion[edit]

Good evening. I wanted to briefly question the decision to delete my article. It appears as if I was deleted because I was not a notable enough entertainer, however, I do host the only sports show on the #1 ranked Internet Radio Station in this area and also ranked in the top 25 in the world (www.w4cy.com). As far as our internal numbers are concerned, my fan base is rather large. Is it "Howard Stern Show" large, of course not, but it's pretty decent. Additionally, I saw one of the comments that stated that I could not be found in the MLB database indicating that I never played in the Major Leagues. I never did, however, I did play minor league baseball for a short time rendering me eligible for membership in the Major League Baseball Alumni Association. Regardless, it was an important part of my bio and not intended to portray me as a Major Leaguer. Thanks for your time and consideration and have a great day.

Tony Capucci[edit]

Hello, I'm confused about your close. You overturned an AfD with a 3 to 2 !vote because of a style guideline? I don't think I've ever seen a style guideline used as a reason to delete an article. I've no problem with deleting the redirect if and when he's removed from the list, but until then it's very odd to not have a redirect to the list where the subject is listed. Hobit (talk) 05:03, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The style guideline dictates that he should not be in the list. Some people who !voted to overturn in the DRV were uncomfortable deleting the redirects without a "formal" deletion discussion if a talk page discussion were held and the result were to remove them from the list. So it's to save bureaucracy. -- King of ♠ 05:22, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The style guidelines, like all guidelines, are not always followed in all cases. _that_ style guideline is extremely commonly ignored as I showed in the DrV. If he's in the list, and he is, there is no reason to delete the redirect. And the decision to follow the guideline in that case requires local discussion. Finally, the "delete and merge" that has happened is likely a violation of the CC and GFD licenses... Probably so minor an amount of text it doesn't matter (and for all I know the list entry was there before the main article) but still, we don't delete and merge for a reason... Hobit (talk) 13:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Of course we can't delete and merge; in this case, it shouldn't have been merged in the first place. -- King of ♠ 22:53, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we seem to be at delete and merge. I think it needs to be fixed one way or the other. I also don't understand why we don't have a redirect to a list when our guidelines say we should. That you and/or the !voters at DrV don't want such a list entry is irrelevant--it's there. We need to either get to having the redirect or not having the list item. Hobit (talk) 04:16, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All right then, let's get a discussion going on the list's talk page. -- King of ♠ 04:34, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to do so (I personally don't have a strong opinion either way). But I think you should have gotten the list sorted out before deleting the redirect rather than the other way around. I'm inclined to recreate the redirect at the moment as there is no policy-based reason not to link to the list that describes him. Hobit (talk) 19:47, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All right, it's at Talk:List of male performers in gay porn films#Tony Capucci. -- King of ♠ 06:57, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paruthiyur Krishna Shastri was my Great Grand Father[edit]

I can send you his picture. I can send you an article about him. I can send you a picture of the temple he built. He spent all his living life donating to charity and feeding the poor. He was a Billionaire by modern standards but he donated it all. His story is true. He was a true Brahmasri and a Sanskrit Mahamahopadhyaya. I teach my kids to be as generous as him and share their things, donate their toys. So please undelete his article as he is as real as I am.

Iceland–Switzerland relations[edit]

Do you mind providing me with the most recent version of Iceland–Switzerland relations at User:Cdogsimmons/Iceland–Switzerland relations. You closed the delete discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iceland–Switzerland relations as a delete but I'd like to continue to improve it. Thanks.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 19:02, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please undelete Heavenly Body[edit]

Hi, last January you closed a deletion discussion for Heavenly Body. Since then, I've found enough reviews to show that Heavenly Body now meets WP:BK#1, and another user has assessed it as such. Can you please undelete the article so that I can use the reviews with the old content? Thank you. --Malkinann (talk) 07:10, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, it's at User:Malkinann/Heavenly Body. Feel free to move it back to the main namespace when it's done. -- King of ♠ 00:08, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that - I've incorporated the sources and am almost ready to move it into the mainspace. Could I trouble you to reupload the cover art, File:Heavenly body in 2008.jpg? The person who deleted it because it was orphaned is having an attack of RL right now. Thanks! --Malkinann (talk) 02:54, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Technically, fair-use is supposed to be used in the main namespace only. Could you first finish the article and move it back? -- King of ♠ 00:23, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, it's ready now. :) --Malkinann (talk) 01:42, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks[edit]

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which failed with 21 support, 39 oppose, and 11 neutral.
This is highly belated, but I wanted to thank you for your comments in the RfA discussion. I do apologize for taking so long to reply to you, after the failure I laid back for a while for several reasons and WP took a backseat. I just dove into another article and am working more diligently on WP. I have taken your concerns about user warnings to heart and have been working to warn users more diligently. I also provide a clear reason when I jump to a higher level warning so to avoid confusion.

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Dogs (Call of Duty). 3rd google hit is a review (first two are to its own site). Two of the three voters are involved in Tothwolf ArbCom case for egregious AfD and prod behavior. The other didn't appear to make any effort to find sources either. Pcap ping 08:19, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
