People are so nice and welcoming here for the most part! Thank you! <3 Kailey 2001 (talk) 00:02, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Haha see it's not all bad! :), Meh some people can be dicks but on the whole it's an alright place!, Anyway you're welcome <3 –Davey2010Talk 00:06, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am really strong emotionally after some of the things I have gone through, so the trolling doesn't bother me. It's the kindness that really gets my attention. Kailey 2001 (talk) 00:08, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: School Vandalism[edit]

Hi Kailey 2001, I just wanted to let you know that your school won't be notified. We have no way to contact your school and it wouldn't make sense to anyways. We don't know who you are. Wikipedia gives users the right to edit anonymously, which means that we would never go so far as to contact your school. You edited under an IP address that linked back to your school, and you ended up getting blocked. That's it. Hope this helps! --TJH2018 talk 21:42, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailey 2001 I just wanted to thank you for the barnstar! Also, I'm a sophomore so I kinda get where you are coming from! I am still pretty new to this, but once you get the hang of it, you will have a blast! Also, to answer your question, an abuse report is basically an email sent to the person listed on the WHOIS registry notifying them that their IP addresses are being repeatedly used for malicious activities. And from that point, it's up to the IT to decide what to do from there. Again, if you have any more questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page! Cheers! TJH2018 talk 02:58, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, and wow, I'm also a sophomore! I knew what abuse reports were for like spamming because my brother is an IT professional, but I wasn't sure if that's what it meant here or not. So if Wikipedia doesn't send abuse reports, why does the school template say we do? Kailey 2001 (talk) 03:04, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, it's up to the admin on whether or not to send an email to the WHOIS owner. Also, there's a neat little gadget called Twinkle that helps autonomize the anti-vandalism process. It lets you place standardized warning templates, and lets you make AIV reports and other things doable with the click of a mouse, instead of leaving your own messages. Glad to see that you're here to stay for the near future! Cheers! TJH2018 talk 04:20, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not autoconfirmed yet so it won't let me install Twinkle. :( You don't think he sent an abuse report do you? It was pretty simple vandalism, all I did was write "Kailey was here" on a couple of articles. Nothing over the top. Kailey 2001 (talk) 04:37, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, an abuse report is for repeated vandalism over a long period of time, and it's more serious than a one-time thing like that. Cheers! TJH2018 talk 16:00, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You ask "So if Wikipedia doesn't send abuse reports, why does the school template say we do?" I think that in the early days of Wikipedia time abuse reports were often sent, but it was found that the reports were rarely acted on, so Wikipedia administrators stopped sending the reports. Now, such reports are sent only very rarely, in extreme cases. Theoretically, an administrator still has the option of sending a report to a school or ISP, because as far as I know there has never been a policy decision to stop doing so, but in practice it is not likely to happen except in really exceptional circumstances, such as once when a teacher was deliberately getting his students to vandalise Wikipedia as part of their school work, and the Wikimedia Foundation did get onto the school about it. For future reference[edit]

The correct thing to do with a usesrname such as Fucku24-7-365 is to list is here. I've added it for you. Meters (talk) 23:16, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Since you seem to be a new user who keeps getting a lot of vandalism, I wanted to give you some advise: if you wish to edit Wikipedia, then don't allow vandals to deter you from doing so. Such vandalism can be reversed, vandals can be blocked, and even if they evade their blocks, they tend to go away when you don't give them attention (aside from what's necessary, such as informing administrators, ETC).

If you need to, you can always request that your user page and Talk Page be protected, so that only certain editors can edit it. You can make such request here. DarkKnight2149 22:08, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

They don't bother me. Considering I've been called much worse by (pardon my French) jealous bitches irl, I actually find their attempts to be humorous, albeit unacceptable since it disrupts the project. Kailey 2001 (talk) 22:26, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have semi-protected your user page to stop the vandalism. Unfortunately, this will mean that for a short while you won't be able to edit the page, but in a day plus about nine hours you will become autoconfirmed, and then you will be able to edit it again. I can protect your talk page too after that, if you like, but I certainly don't want to shut you out of your own talk page until you are autoconfirmed. I prefer to avoid protecting talk pages, as it can cause inconvenience for legitimate editors, but there are ways of dealing with that problem, such as having a second talk page in the background for use by editors who are prevented from using your main talk page. I am using that method myself at the moment, as my talk page was subjected to persistent attacks by a vandal. Theoretically, the vandal could just vandalise the background talk page, but for some reason they almost never do: maybe there's no fun if the vandalism is not likely to be seen by many people. Let me know if you want me to protect your talk page. I'm sorry that your early experience of editing Wikipedia has been affected by this nonsense. It is, in fact, very unusual for such vandalism campaigns to be aimed at a new editor: far more often, attacks of this kind are directed at long-established editors, particularly administrators, when the vandal is someone with a grudge against them. However, I'm glad to see that you say it doesn't bother you. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:55, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To Mr. Verizon Wireless[edit]

I know you're probably just trying to offend me (which won't be easy for you cause I'm not easily offended), but since you seem so curious about my physical appearance, and since I have a nasty habit of playing with my food... I am one of the flyers on my squad, and I am tiny. I would post a pic, but last time I did that on a forum some asshole tried to ID me irl, so we won't go there. Furthermore, my boyfriend is actually not a football player, not that there's anything wrong with cheerleaders dating football players. I won't be posting nudes, and that's actually a serious felony just to ask a minor for them. I'm actually very easy going, which is the only reason I'm even posting this. Kailey 2001 (talk) 04:54, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...[edit]

...for the barnstar. It's nice to occasionally be told that someone appreciates the efforts I make. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:52, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

talk page protection[edit]

Kailey, if this keeps up you may want to ask an admin to semi-protect your talk page for a while. It's unusual to do so, but there is more than sufficient reason to do so if you wish. If you do choose to have your talk page protected you should probably set up an unprotected page for unconfirmed editors to use, and leave a notice and link on your protected talk page. I had to do this just a few days ago so you can look at the top of my talk page and at my unprotected talk page User talk:Meters/unprotected to see how I did it. Meters (talk) 18:30, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've been thinking about that, cause this guy is just outright being vulgar with me. Anyone who would take pleasure in sexually harassing a 15 year old girl online must really be a sad person. I almost feel sorry for him, that he is that miserable. I'm definitely going to wait until I am autoconfirmed though. There's not much I can't handle. Hugs. Kailey 2001 (talk) 18:56, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection[edit]

I've semi-protected your talk page for a day. That means only autoconfirmed users can edit here. Please tell me if you wish to modify that in any way. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:51, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Anna Frodesiak: I think you unintentionally overrode the protection I'd already placed. I had protected it for a week, and I just modified the protection back to that length, given past vandalism here. GorillaWarfare (talk) 09:00, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I did. Sorry. I checked but you must have clicked submit seconds before I did. Cheers. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:05, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Kailey 2001 (talk) 19:51, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good advice[edit]

I slightly modified the barnstar. Best advice is to never shoot back. Ignoring is the best way. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:38, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed - good call. Also, welcome back Kailey 2001! We kept your talk page nice and warm for you while you were away (among... like a bunch of other articles and talk pages as well... haha). Glad to see that the harassment has stopped (at least for now) :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:48, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And I appreciate it. There's so many of you who have stuck up for me that I'm having trouble keeping up with the barnstars! :-) Kailey 2001 (talk) 00:03, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know[edit]

Only admins can remove page protection. I'm not quite sure what you did in your most recent edit to your talk page but it is still protected. Just a heads-up. --Ches (talk) (contribs) 17:45, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Chesnaught555: I know. Probably best to just keep it protected. I had a separate page for non autoconfirmed users cause someone said vandals usually leave those alone, but they didn't so I got rid of it. ♥ Kailey 2001 ♥ You just got reverted by a high school cheerleader. ♥ 19:35, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
