Just wondering what made you creat a page on PB. Do you know her? Did you interview her? Why does the page that I keep making for Leeds act, Plastic Fuzz, keep getting deleted?

Hi, thanks for your message on my talk. Sorry for the late reply. I only recently am back in my country. I added Gerald Chapman to List of HIV-positive people with the source you provided. I did saw the reference before but since it wasn't specified from what reference the AIDS info came I couldn't use it. Cheers, Garion96 (talk) 02:25, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

You may have misunderstood me. We can't have a Talk page without an article. What you need to do is to re-create the article first. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 23:25, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Albion

Hello, Jud... I have manually checked the external links and they don't really seem to make much mention of the band Albion per see, they mostly mention the vocalist... normally I'd just undelete it anyway, but in this case it would appear to be some sort of personal crusade against the user, which is not my intention... but nevertheless, if you bring this to the attention of another admin, I'm sure he/she will be more than able to guide you. If you have further questions or anything else comes up, feel free to contact me. --Sn0wflake 05:41, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Jud, the edits you made to the Cauliflower cheese page are very good indeed. Many thanks, they have greatly improved the whole article. --Mr. Bridger 22:48, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Dwina

Hi - ok, here's my concern: I know that the cites were BBC and the Times, which of course are considered reliable, but the quote I saw the BBC reporting on was from tabloids which are anything but reliable. And since Dwina Gibb is a living person, I felt that this characterization of her could be problematic wording according to BLP guidelines. Since this quote is hardly central to the article on Robin, I think it's best to leave it out. But it's just my opinion - I'll leave it there for now, but would like some more thought to be given to whether or not it is a BLP concern, and whether it really is adding something to the piece. Maybe one of the BLP project editors might have a look. Anyway, I'm not going to edit war on it - I removed it the second time because I had given an actual reason for removal and the reverter's edit summary just said "nope" which isn't exactly constructive or responsive to the concerns I raised. Thanks for your note of explanation though, I appreciate that. Tvoz |talk 23:56, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Re James and Tom Martin

Thanks for your message regarding my article.Sorry for the late reply ..I've only just figured out how to get to read them as this is my first time on Wikipedia. Ive changed all the capitals to small case and also added a list of the songs written by James and Tom and once I figure how to use the sand box ill check out your version of the article Im not really sure about any of it to be honest so any help on how to save the article would be appreciated, even if you help me or re write it for me thanksPurplepickledonions 17:17, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Re James and Tom Martin again

I'm finding getting this article to comply with guidelines really difficult so ive read your sand box guide article and that sounds good... Please explain how I get my article to sound as good or can I use your words if you think it will be more acceptable. Also how do I include the songs listed so it reads better,I must sound really clueless by the way lol. Thanks --Purplepickledonions 17:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC) Whoever you are ,youre a star,I really do appreciate your help its kind of you.As long as we can both take credit for the article, please feel free to substitute your article for mine or just enhance the parts of it you think are not so good and add the bit about the Bel's Boys.I hope between us we can save it --Purplepickledonions 17:40, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your help,it reads much better now and I understand about citations etc ..Sign it too if you would like too

--Purplepickledonions 17:52, 15 April 2007 (UTC) OK done that too now to change those damn capitals ..Again Cheers for the help youve taught me a lot. --Purplepickledonions 17:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC) Could you check ,if you dont mind to see that ive changed the capitals and correctly made the changes you advised and ill read the manual style article asap Again many thanks --Purplepickledonions 18:12, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank You

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all that you have done to help me regarding my article and for pointing out to others that its my first one,I really dont think it would have got this far withot your help and hopefully now it will stay.I am not a person who learns or understands by just reading something...I need to be shown which is exactly what you were kind enough to do. I doubt very much that I will be contributing any more new articles though, as I dont think I have the vocabulary or the knowhow to get an article to meet wiki criteria and apart from yourself(who has been very helpfull and kind)everyone else seems to have just critised me without offering help..not very "wikipedia friendly" of them I must say. --Purplepickledonions 10:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

just to add We saved it ...thanks for your help

The Bedford "Arms"

I know that many people use "The Bedford Arms". I think that this stems from that name being used in the A-Z. That might indicate that it's a former name. I don't know enough of the history. I was good friends with the Gallaghers who owned the pub until the late 90s and people getting the name wrong used to really annoy them.

However, you're right than many people still use the term. So I'm happy with the current "also known as" wording. Davorg 07:14, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

I should have read the Bedford article more closely. I knew about the Charles Bravo connection but I didn't spot that it was missing from the article. There's another connection with the Bravo case too. I think the coachman was in the Bedford when he was overheard saying something that affected the inquiry. I'd need to check my copy of "Murder at the Priory" for more details. Davorg 09:59, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Closer (single).jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Closer (single).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use Image:Malachi.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Malachi.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 13:47, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Jefford.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jefford.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. - AWeenieMan (talk) 01:54, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Blue Bank (album cover).jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Blue Bank (album cover).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Private Sweety (talk) 13:26, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Allonsy.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Allonsy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Private Sweety (talk) 13:31, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Westcoaster with bowsprit.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Westcoaster with bowsprit.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Ainsliealbum.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ainsliealbum.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Image:Ainsliealbum.jpg

I have tagged Image:Ainsliealbum.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 21:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
