Hey Dogg, well I was heavier handed than I intended, but that's how it went. Thanks for the kind comments on the book. - I do not know if you are aware of this, but you incorrectly filed the FAC request for the article Battle of Midway. I went ahead and filed on your behalf. I wish you luck for the upcoming candidacy, but be aware that since you nominated the page you must make a good faith effort to adress any objections raised during the articles run through FAC. Richard E. Fleming edits[edit]

Hi Richard,

First, you can read the actual citation of Fleming's MOH--it clearly states that 1) he missed, and 2) he crashed near the ship. Second, if you want to read an account of the Japanese side, see my book, Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway, pp. 362-363

Sorry to bother you, but I'm just finishing a dissertation on the Pacific carrier doctrine of the Americans, and was wondering if you knew who the Yorktown's (CV-5) radar operator was at Midway, since he seems to be rather good?
