Just wanted to say hi

Nice to meet you Jeff G, do you know how to make my username a different colour instead of black using codes? good day Ilikememes128 (talk) 22:54, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

@Ilikememes128: Hi, and welcome. My signature uses "  — <span style="font-size:115%;background-color:lightyellow">[[User:Jeff G.|Jeff]] [[User:Jeff G./talk|G. ツ]]</span>" wikitext to form "  — Jeff G. ツ". You may put your desired wikitext in the "Signature" field in the "Signature" section of Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal. Make sure you keep the "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" checkbox unchecked there unless you use wikitext to make your own link, as a link to your user or user talk page is required.   — Jeff G. ツ 13:27, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

February 17, 7pm: ONLINE WikiWednesday Salon NYC
Welcome to Wikimedia New York City!

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly "WikiWednesday" evening salon (7-8pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop. To join the meeting from your computer or smartphone, just visit this link. More information about how to connect is available on the meetup page.

We look forward to seeing local Wikimedians, but would also like to invite folks from the greater New York metropolitan area (and beyond!) who might not typically be able to join us in person!

This month will include a discussion of Black WikiHistory Month in February, plans for WikiWomen's History Month in March, and of course the great work that is being done in these topical areas throughout the year. We will also have a relevant demonstration of the Wikipedia:Did you know process. If there's a project you'd like to share or a question you'd like answered, just let us know by adding it to the agenda or responding to this message.

7:00pm - 8:00 pm online via Zoom (optional breakout rooms from 8:00-8:30)

Jeff G | Draft:Trevor Ohlsen

Hi Jeff,

I appreciate your time and efforts with regards to the Draft:Trevor Ohlsen page I've been putting together.

I believe there is a misunderstanding. This is not an autobiographical page being made by Trevor. He is currently working with a team of people (record label, management, press, etc.) and I've been put to the task of creating this Wikipedia Page. Admittedly, this is my first time specifically working on Wikipedia, however as a person involved in tech, I felt I was up to the task. I hope this clears the air with regards to that.

Also, I'm hoping you can continue to help along the process of getting the page complete. The photographs I've chosen to use for Trevor's page were specifically sent to me for use, and are copyright free, so there should not be an issue there.

I also am continuing to add more references as well.

I hope we can move forward together on this!

Best,

Miles — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miles8926 (talkcontribs) 17:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Jeff,

Thank you for your quick response. Again, as a first time doing this, I was unaware that I needed to add that to my user's section. Thank you. You've been a great help to me.

I have added in the section you sent me and should be good to move forward with making edits on Draft:Trevor Ohlsen

@Miles8926: Thank you for adding that. I fixed it. You are free to make suggestions at Draft talk:Trevor Ohlsen, not to edit Draft:Trevor Ohlsen. Please edit existing sections with related content, rather than creating new sections.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:36, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Jeff,

Not a problem. I appreciate your help. Will the suggestions I make, if found feasible, be edited and added in by you?

Miles — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miles8926 (talkcontribs) 17:42, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

@Miles8926: Maybe. Please sign your posts.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Suggestions added

I've added in a few suggestions for you Jeff at Draft talk:Trevor Ohlsen

Thanks again for your help in moving the page forward.

Miles

Ahh, I am learning a lot from you Jeff. Thank you. Will do. Miles8926 (talk) 17:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

@Miles8926: Here's a suggestion for you: work on your reading comprehension.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:59, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

A lovely suggestion. Your help will continue to be appreciated. Miles8926 (talk) 18:12, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Response to deleted draft DM Digital: Cincinnati*

Hello Jeff,

You left a message on my talk board about submitting my draft for speedy deletion. I wanted to clarify that although I do work for the company I wrote the article about, I do not receive payment for doing so. I simply wanted to provide a public, unbiased source of information surrounding the agency and make a clear differentiation between Cincinnati's DM Digital and the UK DM Digital. I would not have minded anyone editing any "biased" perspectives that came across in the article, but I had no promotional or advertising intentions behind the article's creation (as mentioned by another user. If possible, please allow for the article to be recovered and submitted for review. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Minordrew (talkcontribs) 18:32, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

@Minordrew: It appears from what I remember of the article that you are Drew Minor, President of DM Digital (Cincinatti). Presidents generally have financial stakes in their companies. Kindly cease and desist from creating content on WMF wikis that might be construed as tending to increase exposure of, or reflect well on, yourself, your company, or your clients. In other words, no advertising, promotion, marketing, SEO, or anything remotely related, per WP:PAID. Pinging @Deb as an interested Admin.   — Jeff G. ツ 05:45, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
