HuffPost / question about "The End"

Hi Jeff,

I'm with The Huffington Post and would like to write about an article I believe you created -- The end of Wikipedia.

If you were the original creator, would you be up for telling me the origin of the page and where the initial inspiration came from. Has the company talked to you about the page? Was the joke disclaimer required?

Thanks for considering getting back to me and all the best. My email is [email protected] if that's easier. Todd — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.236.208.24 (talk) 19:58, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

@64.236.208.24: Todd, thank you for your interest. The page you referenced is not a Wikipedia article or entry at all, as it is in the Wikipedia namespace, not mainspace. When I created it over six years ago, I was following through on an idea from OlEnglish (talk · contribs) in this edit, and I completed the linkage with this edit. If it was an article, it would be deleted for various reasons, including WP:ASR and WP:NOT. Nobody from The WikiMedia Foundation has contacted me about it. I included the joke disclaimer in keeping with the rest of the Department of Fun.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 22:39, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
The name of the page is analogous to the last page of a paper encyclopedia book, as opposed to some incomprehensible end of the Wikipedia Project.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 14:11, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
