July 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Mubarak Muyika, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. I'm assuming good faith that you may have not read my edit summaries so I'm leaving a message here to explain it.

As I've stated in my editing summaries there are a few things I'd like to point out:

  • Please don't remove date templates such as {{use dmy dates}} as you did in your edit here, they are used to keep a date standard across the article that fits the subject, in this case I used the Kenyan standard which is day, month, year. The templates are left to alert future Wikipedians editing the article.
  • Per your edit on Muyika's birth place, the blog you originally sourced the fact that he was born in Kakamega failed WP:RS, specifically the WP:UGC section. (For your information, if you open Wikipedia links starting with "WP:" they generally link to either official Wikipedia policies or essays written by Wikipedians. As you can read yourself, these are official Wikipedia policies that all articles and editors must comply to.)
  • When writing city names, or names in general, their first letter is generally capitalized to signify it's a name per MOS:CAPS, in this case, specifically MOS:GEOUNITS. (For your information, Wikipedia links starting with "MOS:" generally determine the writing style Wikipedia articles MUST have as its parts ARE Wikipedia policy.)
  • Please do not remove information that has been sourced relevant to the subject without citing a proper reason for it, as you did here. Since the subject of the paragraph is Zagace and the paragraph does mention the base of the corporation in California, therefore it should mention the just as notable base in Nairobi. Your constant deletion of this sourced information is infringing on WP:DE as it shows signs of the first section in WP:DISRUPTSIGNS.

If you think I got anything wrong then please let me know, I'd be glad to try and reach a clear consensus on the article's status with you.

PS: You should read all the policies I've linked here as they would help you contribute to the Encyclopedia for the better, though remember to know when to be WP:BOLD!

Mubarak Muyika edit[edit]

You're right about the reference not mentioning a Nairobi branch existing. I made a mistake there, thanks for fixing it! Cheers. Hecseur (talk) 10:44, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
